A great example of an #accessibility feature that benefits everyone is the curb cut. They help people pushing carts or strollers, pulling suitcases, using a wheelchair or walker, or pushing a bicycle. When we talk about Universal Design for Learning, this is what the goal is.

When creating learning experiences, we have to remember that every learner is unique. We should design courses and lessons with this variability in mind in order to maximize success for every student.
Learner variability includes preferences and interests, backgrounds and experiences, support needs, and abilities and strengths.

At the OU Online conference last week, one of our IDs co-presented with an OU instructor about what makes a strong working relationships between Subject Matter Experts and Instructional Designers.
The subject matter expert and instruction designer partnership has the following attributes: student/program focused, trust, identification-based trust, connect, communicate, mindset, role-defining, shared vision, long-term collaboration.
