As seen at the Las Vegas airport (for a connecting flight) on Friday. I have a lot of thoughts. Itās cool cards have reached āvending machineā level, PokĆ©mon got way more real estate, and while I havenāt bought many packs of baseball in quite a while, those prices look insane!
Back in 2014 when I heard Jose Canseco lost a finger cleaning a gun I was concerned his lifestyle could make obtaining a signed copy of his 87 Topps difficult. So, I made a move. Glad he seems to be doing okay. Here is that card. @CansecoCards #87Topps #Project87

Ozzie Smith gets a standing ovation from the crowd in Atlanta during his final at-bat in the Majors. Goodbye, Oz.
At last weekendās card show I picked up this never before seen (by me) 8x10 photo of Ozzie celebrating. The question is whether it is from 1982, 1985, or 1987?

My dad may just have been the most even keel, stoic person Iāve ever known. But 41 years ago this today, as we sat in section 310, row 12 at Busch Memorial Stadium, even he heeded Mr. Buckās instructions to āGo crazy, folks!ā Most excited I ever saw him. What a moment.

āSmith corks one out to right down the line... it may go... Go crazy folks, go crazy! It's a home run, and the Cardinals have won the game, by the score of 3-2 on a home run by the wizard!" - Jack Buckšļø
It seems Randy wasnāt Ready to sign my card without a fee/donation. #87Topps #Project87
This weekās 1987 Topps addition is Randy Ready! Iām glad that Randy was Ready to sign this card after I made a donation to St. Jude. Thanks, Randy! #87Topps #Project87
Yesterdayās card show pick ups. I did a decent job of achieving the goal of sticking to the 1951 Bowmans, but also included a couple Red Mans, and a Dave Duncan rookie card!
Had Ozzie sign this Jay Bell cameo card today, in line with this painting from his Westport restaurant. Growing up in Pensacola, I have a fondness for Jay Bell, so finishing this one was important to me. I also met @QuinnSTLCards in person for the first time! #ozziesmithcards
Topps Now Thursday Post # 8 features the 2026 # 555 card highlighting one of the Cardinals biggest moments of the season in which Joshua Baez hit home runs in each of his first three career at bats, the first ever to do so! #stlcards

A tip of the cap to the legendary Buck OāNeill, who died 20 years ago today. Hard to believe itās been that long.
I (like much of America) fell in love with Buck during Ken Burnsā Baseball documentary. And if youāve never read Joe Posnanskiās The Soul of Baseball, do so today!
