Strait of Hormuz flows are hovering at ~13-14 million barrels a day (7-day average). That's about the same as the brief peak in July. But with two notable difference: a) Iranian flows are zero (rather than ~2m b/d); b) all flows are fresh loadings, rather than pre-loaded tankers.

A few hours ago, Iran launched one of the most massive attacks since the beginning of the war against oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Locals in the northern UAE reported hearing "dozens of explosions" coming from the sea, the blasts were described as very loud, suggesting that multiple vessels were likely hit, though the exact number remains unconfirmed.
Furthermore, according to Iranian sources, some anti-ship cruise missiles launched by the IRGC Navy deployed naval mines along the southern route of the strait.

Following the launch of Operation Economic Outcast, @USTreasury imposed targeted financial measures against banks and aviation service providers. At my direction, teams were dispatched across the globe to engage with countries and demand action against the Iranian regime.
These efforts are delivering results. Türkiye and Oman announced the cessation of Mahan Air flights to their countries. The UAE has halted all flights by Iranian airlines, and top commercial banks in the UAE and Türkiye have stopped transacting with Iran.
Even Iran’s leadership has acknowledged the economic toll of the war, as the value of the rial has fallen to record lows.
I appreciate the governments of the UK, Türkiye, Oman, and the UAE. We will continue working together as there is more to be done to prevent Tehran from carrying out its terrorist agenda.

BREAKING: Iran has reportedly started launching a major wave of attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, with at least 4 unconfirmed impacts from Iranian missiles and drones against ships, including a drone strike on a vessel just moments ago.
Initial reports indicate an Iranian cruise missile also successfully struck a target in the Strait, while multiple explosions were reported from the coast of Sirik and by sailors aboard ships in the Persian Gulf. Witnesses say the sound of missiles hitting ships was clearly audible, with IRGC fast attack craft now reportedly maneuvering around Larak Island.
The Strait of Hormuz is now seeing sustained Iranian missile, drone and naval activity tonight, with multiple ships reportedly coming under attack.

Ships in the Strait of Hormoz are emailing Iran and apologising for transiting through the unauthorised routes and blame the Charterer for forcing them to take the route.
The email has some white “redacted” parts containing names etc.
Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) issued a statement in light of new activity in the Strait of Hormoz:
“Reports have been submitted to the PGSA indicating that some charterers are forcing vessels to travel through unauthorized routes.
In addition to creating a risk of financial losses and casualties, its owner, captain, and crew, such actions could also result in serious restrictions on that vessel’s future passage through the Strait of Hormoz.
Shipowners are advised to exercise due caution regarding such illegal actions by certain charterers.
Furthermore, if violations by charterers are confirmed, those companies will be added to the Non-Compliance List (NCL), and all vessels associated with them will face restrictions when passing through the Strait of Hormoz.”

That line is real. The wartime alliance was real. The Flying Tigers were real. The Hump airlift was real. Chinese civilians really did die saving downed American pilots.
What he left out is also real.
The government Washington allied with was the Republic of China. The army that fought Japan in the big battles was Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalists, not Mao’s Communists. The PRC did not exist until 1949. Five years after Japan surrendered, Chinese troops were killing Americans in Korea.
A shared enemy makes a good toast. It does not rewrite who carried the war, who took power afterward, or what happened next.

In the 1400s, the Chinese had massive treasure fleets that explored much of Asia and could have conceivably reached the New World before Europeans did. Then their government huffed some lead paint and stopped sending them, regressing China into a backwater that would eventually be repeatedly embarrassed by Europeans and the Japanese during the Century of Humiliation.
By imposing absurd climate rules on AI usage, the U.K. and Europe are doing the equivalent of China ending the treasure fleets. This is Europe's Century of Humiliation. They are now Latin America with better food, a prize for the U.S., China, and Russia to divvy up.
