This morning, I joined our Romanian affiliates for a protest in front of the @EU_Commission in Brussels to demand respect for the EU minimum wage law.
Minimum wage rises and sectoral bargaining are blocked by employers in Romania.
We won't rest until our demands are met.

The EU has a historic opportunity to improve workers’ livelihoods by setting an example in how it chooses to spend public money.

“The biggest problem is that they choose the lowest bid. That ends up being paid by the worker.”

"What happened in Denmark is a warning Europe cannot afford to ignore. When the universal service obligation to deliver mail was abandoned, communities lost an irreplaceable communication network built over centuries – and workers lost thousands of secure jobs. The European Commission must ensure the upcoming EU Delivery Act defends and modernises a strong USO that protects mail delivery, includes parcels and guarantees investment in postal services as the essential public infrastructure they are," says @ORoethig

Behind every clean space is a story, but too often these stories go untold. Cleaners underpin our workplaces, hospitals, schools and public spaces—and yet their labour is often made invisible.

We want social procurement that works for the citizens!
✊channel public funds towards socially responsible, green and innovative products and services
✊every euro spent on public procurement must contribute to creating quality jobs in Europe, strengthening our social model
✊tax payer money must support fair jobs, green innovation and resilience
We expect the 🇪🇺Commission to take this on board in the upcoming update of the Public Procurement Directives – and to deliver for millions of workers across Europe who deserve fair pay and decent work.
