Welcome to the U, @FerlmannJohn ! I’ve been training John since he was in high school. I’ve had a front-row seat as he worked his way through college football, became a National Champion at Ohio State, earned an invite to the NFL Combine, and continued pursuing the NFL through multiple workouts. Now, I get to watch him take the next step and give back to the next generation of long snappers. I’m excited to officially announce John Ferlmann as the newest member of the Special Teams University Certified Coaching Staff! John will be offering private long snapping lessons in Arizona as he continues to pursue Pro football. John brings everything he has learned throughout his career along with the STU system and coaching philosophy to athletes in the Southwest. There’s something really cool about watching an athlete go from being a young snapper you’re teaching, to competing at the highest levels of college football, to now becoming someone you trust to teach your system to others. John knows what it takes to develop. He knows what it takes to compete. And most importantly, he understands that there’s always another level to chase. Proud to have you on the staff, John. Arizona long snappers, you’ve got a great resource in your backyard. Chase Perfection. Go Unnoticed. #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsU

Long-time client and former @OhioStateFB long snapper @FerlmannJohn is chasing perfection! While I was in Arizona, I had the opportunity to get some work in with John and give him a tune-up as he continues to prepare for his next professional opportunity. John recently wrapped up his collegiate career as a National Champion at Ohio State, earned an invite to the NFL Combine, and has already had numerous NFL workouts, most recently with the Green Bay Packers. The Arizona heat didn’t give us much time to capture video, but we were able to get some really productive work in. Our biggest emphasis was creating more fluidity through his hands and wrists to consistently produce the tightest spiral possible. We also spent time on making sure he feels complete with the snap before transitioning into protection. That distinction matters. When you complete the movement, your body tells the ball where to go. When you cut the follow-through short because you’re rushing to protection, you can end up sacrificing both the snap AND the transition. Finish the snap. Then go play football. John looks great and is ready for his next opportunity. Now we keep preparing so when that call comes, he’s ready to go! Big thanks to former Buckeye snapper @collinj_snapper for coming out with us today! It was great to see him again and catch up! Chase Perfection.
