What is the rules when you till up your yard can spring to resod and a squirrel has used your yard as his food storage? Like am I obligated to feed him until things are growing again? He even buried an acorn in the pot that had my tomato plant. I think he has every inch covered.

I apologized to a female classmate in college when I touched her hand when she handed me something. So yeah, it did affect my behavior.
"In 2020, Pew found that 65% of Americans (69% of men and 61% of women) believed the heightened focus on sexual harassment and assault had made it harder for men to know how to interact with someone on a date." city-journal.org/article/sex…

Some people hate the free market. Some people hate the free market providing a living wage.
Just got quoted $2,400 to paint a 23 by 13 foot living room. The 4 gallons of paint it takes to do the job costs about $110 at Home Depot, or around $160 if you want Sherwin Williams. This is not a particularly skilled job. You went to trade school, not medical school. You own a brush and a roller. Stop ripping people off, contractors.

I am sympathetic to victims of communism.
The major problem with anti-communists is that they’ve never read anything at all about communism. They’ve only ever been (mis)informed about it by the Epstein media. If they’re actually informed about what communism truly means, they’d have no choice but be sympathetic to it.

In fifth grade I was a poor reader. I was out on a lower level than my peers and they made fun of me. I was reading better than them by the end of the year. Sometimes being told you are in need of improvement actually works.

“The parents aren’t doing their jobs.” I agree. Too many parents are a hindrance to their own child’s education. But under our current system, the school still has to serve their kids. If we can teach them despite their parents, then we have work to do. If we can’t, we need to explain why we’re requiring them to spend their childhoods in buildings where, by our own admission, they aren’t going to learn anything. Apparently, school is so essential that children must attend it, but so powerless that we can’t expect it to accomplish much unless their parents have already done everything right. Perhaps you’re keeping them safe. Perhaps you’re making it possible for their parents to go to work. Those are useful services. They’re also services provided by a babysitter. They do not, by themselves, justify making attendance compulsory. And the obligation has to run both ways. If a student persistently refuses to behave well enough to be taught, despite reasonable efforts to address that behavior, the school must be able to end that placement. We cannot require a school to keep a student who prevents everyone else from learning and then hold the school responsible for everyone’s failure to learn. A school that cannot educate its students needs to be fixed. A school that cannot be fixed needs to close. A placement that provides no education should not be compulsory merely because we haven’t bothered to create one that does. Bad parenting is a reason a child needs a functioning school. It is a piss-poor defense of a school that doesn’t function. “The parents failed them first” is a remarkably poor argument for being allowed to fail them next.

I suck at corporate politics. I always pick the losing side.

I realize I have had squirrels treat me like I treat large animals. Watch and stand your ground. Most animals don’t want a confrontation unless they are hungry and you look appetizing.

PBIS and restorative justice thinking.
In just the last 5 years in schools: • 60% increase in disruptive behavior • 40% increase in verbal abuse • 38% increase in physical attacks on teachers Teachers: What’s driving this shift?

Alligator, moose, or cougar. I faced down a bear and a rattlesnake. I have petted a wild bison. The wolves were far away so I didn’t get a sense of danger. Now thinking about it. Facing off and surviving has made me less fearful but more respectful. I would never trust a cougar.
America has so many wild animals, it’s like an RPG with random monster encounters! 🤣🤣🇺🇸🇺🇸 Even with your HP bar completely full, which wild animal would you NEVER want to encounter?! 😂🎮🇺🇸

I was in Alaska a few years ago and I had a wonderful moment. I had lagged behind taking pictures of the falls. I hit a spot with no people as I walked back down the trail. I heard nothing but nature. It was a peaceful experience in a beautiful spot. It lasted less than a minute.

Any of my Florida or Georgia friends. Please share
Friends, I’m again asking for you to share. This is my dear friend’s cousin. Specifically, those in Florida and Georgia. His family is obviously terrified and desperate for information.

"Anti-social behavior" in Cities is too often exclusively coded with poverty and/or lower classes: drugs, homelessness, etc ... but it's fundamentally a problem of selfishness, which is universal The classic example of urban homeowners parking wherever they want, and feeling entitled to do it bc they are fortunate enough to own a home. And the temerity & brazenness of dog owners letting pets off-leash in public parks and bringing them into establishments where **they are not allowed** is (IME) primarily an educated, high income behavior People just doing what they want, all with the justification of "It's fine." And what makes it worse ... they believe it's true! And because the urban police (who are understaffed) have real, serious crimes to deal with, it is incumbent on anti-social behaviors to be self-regulated as much as possible. Tolerating anti-social behaviors fundamentally cannot work in cities. It ultimately forces people to spread apart and move to places where they have control: the suburbs where they have a small house, small yard, and police with less to do
If you truly *love* American cities, you MUST support strict enforcement of laws against anti-social behavior. Paying bus fares, red light cameras, camping on sidewalks, smoking on trains, off-leash dogs, etc etc If people want to do whatever they want, that’s FINE in the suburbs or the country on your own land. But it, fundamentally, cannot work in our densest places where people all have to co-operate in proximity. If we do not, it means cities will continue to be primarily for those able to avoid the annoyances ... the wealthy and/or child-free.

I may be wrong. I am amazed that we haven’t had hyperinflation yet. I am a doomer. I blame all of the talk about nuclear annihilation as a kid having shaped my worldview.

I think AI will destroy the internet and we will go back to 1994 like communication. I love the internet and its benefits but I don’t think I will mourn it long. Many companies are going to learn hooking everything up to the internet was a mistake.

If you love freedom and want everyone to live their best life without infringing on others lives then you can be American even in Japan. Liberty and justice for all.

Weird. I thought someone fixed health care. What happened?
Barack Obama: "They are running scary ads to make you think Democrats are radicals, communists, jihadists, or the woke police. What is radical about wanting everybody to have healthcare? How is that radical?"
