In relation to General Relativity. Blocked by Eratothenes so can't answer in thread.
Show me a test I can do at my house to prove it

Probably the orbit of Mercury would be the easiest, and require very little expensive equipment. Just plot it extremely accurately for a year or two, then apply classical gravitation. Doesn't work. Now use GR. Does work.

I've been seeing so many pictures of Ardern here today (after her buying that mansion). It's horrible! I was trying to foget the hideous tyrant. Make it stop!

Yeah, sorry @oldinvest I can't answer your points because the coward who started the thread has blocked me. To answer your question: there are effects beyond tides, but tides always exist and are 100% predictable based on the position of the Moon.

To anyone (especially @alrightyman) wondering why I am not responding to comments in a couple of controversial posts recently: it's because the coward who started the post has blocked me. Happy to contribute to the discussion elsewhere.

I can't believe that I'm debating a pile of creationists and flat Earthers here on X. Sometimes I need to check what year this is.

Is it just me or is it very difficult to follow debates/discussions on X? I'm never sure how comments relate to each other, what comments are in response to, etc. I mean, Facebook is bad enough, but X seems worse.

Well, that's it for me for another year at work. In fact, that is it for me forever. I took redundancy and no longer work at the University of Otago. Sort of happy, sort of sad.

I've noticed a new trend here (X) in recent weeks: people I'm debating wth leave a stupid comment, then block me so I can't reply and show them why they're wrong. They seem to be determined to remain ignorant. Interesting.

Well, this is frustrating. My iPhone 15 Pro Max has arrived and I can’t set it up because I’m away for the day.

OMFG, Spark are useless. I mean, I heard Vodafone/One are worst, so they must be *really* bad!

Finally reached my goal of 1000 on-line debates (AKA Facebook, Twitter, YouTube arguments). And this is just the tip of the iceberg, because I don't keep a record of the more minor ones!

Quite disappointed that a few of my recent replies to tweets haven't got the old "We're asking Tweeters to review replies with potentially harmful or offensive language" warning. I must try harder.

Pretty happy that almost every tweet or reply I send nowadays gets the warning that it might be offensive. You can’t have real free speech without risking offense!
