Reporters from Hindu, Hindustan, Indian Express, Business Standard, Scroll, Navbharat Times, BBC, Caravan, have been stopped from doing their work and/or detained & heckled by Delhi Police. Are they reel makers or journalists? Milords could've asked Tushar Mehta. They didn't.

Journey of a slander. It was the BJP IT cell which began asking how anyone with a phone and a mic can be called a journalist. This was around Oct 2. Fews day later it was used by Delhi police. Then Godi anchors used this line on TV. Now the Chief Justice.

Legacy news orgs, deeply entrenched in the corporate-political nexus destroying India, are telling us JOURNALISM IS NOT A CRIME. When their moral corruption alone has discredited journalism. Journalistic integrity means a firm belief in Freedom of Expression for ALL, ALWAYS.

Only because mainstream media abdicated their responsibility and became propaganda arms of the govt that serious journalists have turned to digital only media outlets and YouTube to hold the govt to account. Mainstream media has already commodified news. Why whine about others
MIB should take note It has become a complete engagement farming game. Say independent journalist, rage bait police and protestors, optimise for views, monetise.

Baffled by journalists claiming the SIR issue is hard to understand for "the people", when the said people have queued up for hours filling up forms, been called for adjudication and have had their names removed. What do you think of people?

India's Opposition (BJP) calls on PM (Dr MMS) to resign: aljazeera.com/news/2013/5/11… BJP demands PM's resignation: timesofindia.indiatimes.com/… And more such if you do a simple google search. Selective amnesia is a wonderful thing.
Rahul Gandhi has damaged the protests by declaring that his real aim is to topple the government. In India governments can only be removed through elections. You cannot fight for democracy and support undemocratic methods.

At this point you have to believe that the Delhi Police secretly loves RG. Why else would you give him such visuals?

The national rollout of the SIR has been under the supervision of all three Election Commissioners. But two of them, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, have formally objected, on record, at least 14 times over the last 10 months — four times on a single day — to decisions taken and orders issued, they say, without their knowledge. How shocking. The RSS had to persuade those its followers calls "ricebags" and "puncturewallahs" to showcase Mohan Bhagwat's appearance at the MSG? And those who found out in time, refused to join and some who joined, now repent and repudiate their participation.
BREAKING from New York reg Mohan Bhagwat's event: Two prominent New York faith leaders who appeared along RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat have publicly said that organizers did not tell them about the Bhagwat-RSS connection to the MSG event. Both have now publicly repudiated their participation. Rev. Adriene Thorne, Senior Minister of the historic Riverside Church, says she was pursued through 10 emails over roughly six weeks for a “One World, One Humanity” interfaith gathering. She says she was not told that Bhagwat would be the central figure at the MSG event, about the RSS connection, or about AHEAD, which organized the event. She calls her appearance a “terrible mistake” and says she would never have participated had she known. Imam Shamsi Ali, a prominent NYC Muslim and interfaith leader, said Bawa Jain and Dileepji Kumar invited him to the event too but never disclosed in their meetings or official invitation that Bhagwat would be the central guest. Ali attended the gathering at The Pierre, an NYC hotel, but said that once he learned its true nature, he refused to continue to MSG. Links of both statements here: instagram.com/p/Dcw8oFQC7uU/ instagram.com/p/Dcw8oFQC7uU/ Rev. Winnie Varghese has also spoken about it: facebook.com/share/v/18E72RP… More faith leaders expected to issue statements.

If you ask me, the real sign of failed rural development policies is the persistence of microfinance. All it has done over the last 20 years is push cash-strapped families into debt while spinning yarns about income generating activities. Contemptible industry.
