I’ve never been a massive fan of Layer-2 blockchains. Every time you move a layer up, you are inherently shifting away from absolute decentralization.
For me, that defeats the main selling point of blockchain technology and the promise of open, trustless financial rails.

But Solana has its own hurdles. For it to win the long game, the network must scale to permanently eliminate congestion without succumbing to centralization.
Because running a Solana node requires expensive, industrial-grade hardware, it faces the constant risk of economic centralization — where power is concentrated into the hands of a few massive data centers and whale DEXs like @JupiterExchange.
Post 4 ⚖️ The Bottom Line
• Layer-2s (Base, Robinhood): A compromise. They sacrifice decentralization at the execution layer to capture institutional compliance and plug into Ethereum’s deep liquidity.
• Layer-1s (Solana): A bet on a unified, transparent, and ultra-fast base layer—assuming it can keep its validation decentralized.
True blockchain innovation isn’t just about making transactions faster; it’s about making sure the rails remain open, auditable, and out of the hands of the legacy gatekeepers.
