Training local workers takes years. Rapid disruptions like mass deportations create immediate labor vacuums that can't be filled overnight. These delays and worker shortages reduce annual housing production by tens of thousands of units, which compounds the existing national deficit of homeowners in the US. For context, the home ownership rates in countries like China and Russia are over 90%, but it's only 65% in the USA.
