Back on the content creation for my next course - Architecture Security After a busy Q4 with some consultancy work I've spent this week mapping out the online content and planning videos. Today I kicked it off with a 'why making a diagram' video and why it is so important when starting an architecture review. I mostly look at arch in tandem with code, and I usually try to knock something together quickly during the first day or so. Having something visual to look at, even if it is a hot mess, often leads me to asking smarter questions, finding interesting gaps, or potential attack paths to try and realise. Do you make diagrams on arch/code review assessments? Also, how sloppy to you make your diagrams?

I uninstalled all social media apps from my phone yesterday. Caught myself doomscrolling my news app, bbc news, twitter, reddit, even linkedin a bit. Most of what is going on with the world is pretty miserable right now so decided to just remove the constant stream of bad news and sources of negativity entirely. This morning I picked up my phone a few times and once I realised I had no messages I put it down again. Wondered what to do, decided to start reading a book I got for Christmas. Oddly freeing, I wonder what a month without the social media on the phone will be like? The book - because you don't ever know enough
