Time to squeeze myself onto a packed commuter train... >_<" I don't have much experience drawing characters created by other people, so please bear with me if I don't get everything quite right. 😅 こういうちょっと悪そうな雰囲気の美人キャラも好きなんですけど、少し高飛車で自信満々なお嬢様系もいいな……と思い始めてます。 前にも少し話したことがありますが、私は昔から人の顔を見分けたり、顔の特徴を覚えたりするのがあまり得意ではありません。 そのせいなのか、決まったキャラクターの特徴や「その子らしさ」を掴んで、毎回同じように再現するのもかなり苦手です。 だから私の絵は、その場で思いついたキャラを落書きして、そのまま一度きりの登場で終わることが多いんですよね。 以前「あなたのキャラって、一度しか登場しない子が多いよね？」と言われたことがありますが、たぶんこれも理由の一つです。 版権キャラや、設定のしっかり決まったキャラ、他の方のOCをあまり描かないのも同じ理由です。 特徴をちゃんと拾って「その子らしさ」を再現するのが、私には結構難しくて……。 以前、他の方とお互いのOCを描く機会があった時も、自分には交換に出せるような「看板娘」がいないことに気づいて、ちょっと悲しくなりました。 顔を覚えるのが苦手 → キャラクターの特徴を固定するのも苦手 → 毎回ランダムな子を落書きする → 固定キャラが育たない ……たぶん、ずっとこんな感じです。😅 ------------------------------------------------------ I do like beautiful characters with a slightly wicked or mischievous vibe, but lately I've been thinking that a proud, confident young-lady type might be pretty nice too. I've mentioned this before, but I've always had some difficulty recognizing faces and remembering people's facial features. Maybe that's part of the reason I also struggle with capturing the defining features of a character and consistently reproducing what makes them feel like the same person every time I draw them. That's probably why so many of my characters are just random girls I come up with while doodling, only to never appear again afterward. Someone once asked me, "Do your characters only appear once?" And... honestly, this is probably one of the reasons why. 😅 It's also why I don't draw established characters, characters with very strongly defined designs, or other people's OCs very often. Capturing all those little details and, more importantly, the essence of what makes that character them can be surprisingly difficult for me. There was also a time when I was invited to do an OC art exchange with someone. That was when I realized I didn't really have a signature girl of my own to offer in return—a recurring character who could represent me. I was actually pretty sad about that. So I guess it goes something like this: I'm bad at recognizing and remembering faces in real life → I have trouble keeping a character's defining features consistent → I end up doodling random characters instead → those characters usually only appear once → and I never really develop a recurring signature character of my own. ...I think that's basically been my creative process all along. 😅
