📍 Ntoroko | Karugutu Secondary School
The URA Tax Education team took tax awareness to Karugutu Secondary School in Fort Portal under the #TaxAlertGeneration programme, equipping students with practical knowledge about taxation and its contribution to national development.
Team Lead, Benjamin Senfuka took students through the basics of taxation, covering tax types, filing tax returns, URA’s role as a government revenue collection agent and current initiatives aimed at improving tax compliance.
The session provided an opportunity for students to appreciate the connection between paying taxes and financing public services, while encouraging them to become informed and responsible citizens who can influence a culture of voluntary tax compliance.
Meanwhile, John Kiyaga, URA’s Manager Service Management in Domestic Taxes, handed over tax education literature to the school’s Headmaster to support continued learning and strengthen tax awareness within the school community.
Through the #TaxAlertGeneration programme, URA continues to invest in young people, laying the foundation for a generation that understands its tax obligations and its role in building the nation.
