This is a good ad.
As a man of faith, I pray every day. Faith is a thing there’s just too little of in Washington.

When I first saw Lon posting about this I thought it was a fake account. Wild to spend your October campaigning against a Dem senate candidate.

The change from 1860 to 1870 in WA is wild.
In 1850, the average American was probably not a member of a religious body. By 1926, there was a very good chance that they were. You can also see pretty clearly when the Bible belt really started to develop across these maps. (This metric is the share of each state's population affiliated with a religious body).

Seems like Meta is just going to koolaide man through this map and dominate 50 of 50 states.
This is pretty obvious if you live in the flyovers. Claude has almost no cultural salience. Everyone uses “Chat.”

Losing a saint's relics to the enemy as you escape their advance is a very 10th century problem
Turns out the Russians may have just lost the bones of their "St. Dmitry of the Don" while running away from the Ukrainian army. The bones were sent to the front last week to apparently "boost morale and inspire the average Russian soldier."

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

NEW: According to a bombshell report in the New York Times, Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah threatened to walk out of Pope Leo XIV’s AI encyclical launch in May because the pope rejected the idea that machines can be conscious. Olah’s team then privately lobbied the pope’s advisers “to take the possibility of model consciousness seriously.” Pope Leo XIV held firm. For months, Anthropic has wined and dined theologians and religious scholars under nondisclosure agreements, hoping they would bless the idea that Claude has moral standing. thelettersfromleo.com/p/nyt-…

Dems’ “blue state weakness, red state strength” in polls continues.
We lucked out pretty well in WV in getting good samples. We've nearly hit all of our weighted targets in our raw sample, so this is going to be another 24-hour poll. In the final weighting process it'll go between R+4-R+6 in a Trump +21 seat IMO projects.statenavigate.com/i…

Amazon dot com’s stock price has now fallen 95% from its high on December 19, 1999. In just 21 months, this once-promising tech darling has fallen in the dustbin with all the other tech bubble busts.

Fascinating. Chief Economist at Apollo: agents could cause a bank run by sweeping household cash into accounts paying 3-5% instead of the 0.1% national average, causing banks to lose a large share of their cheap deposits.
