This year’s World Menopause Day carries a theme of ‘Chronic Pain at Midlife’, turning a light on one of the most challenging yet least discussed symptoms of the menopause transition.
Despite menopause being a natural life stage, its impact on women’s careers remains profound.
Up to 13% of women quit their jobs due to the menopause, but up to 80% lack any workplace support for dealing with their symptoms.
These are more than numbers. They are a massive loss of talent and experience.
While legislation exists in some countries to shift menopause support from a ‘good to have’ to a mandatory requirement, organisations worldwide need to step up.
And the kicker? It often doesn’t take much. Small adjustments like flexible working and controlling workplace temperatures can make a massive difference, supporting those experiencing symptoms and ensuring they can continue to thrive.
What steps does your workplace take or have you put into place yourself to support those experiencing menopause?

When you feel stressed, anxious, or that a low mood is building, it can be harder to reach out to ask for help. Deciding in advance who you would talk to makes support more difficult to access.
Pick one trusted person you can message when things start to feel heavy. Save their number, tell them they matter to you, and remember that support starts with one honest conversation.

When life gets busy or stressful, enjoyable activities are often the first thing to disappear, even though they’re key to supporting mood and motivation. The key? Don’t wait for free time to magically appear. Instead, schedule one small, pleasant activity a week, whether that’s coffee and a catch up with a friend, a walk, pursuing a hobby, listening to music, or spending some time in the garden. It’s important to make time for joy!

This October we celebrate World Mental Health Day.
This year’s theme is particularly powerful, called ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’.
Mental health affects us all.
Recent data from The Lancet shows that 1 in 7 of us live with a mental health condition, which is around 1.17 billion people worldwide. Anxiety and depressive disorders continue to be the most common challenges we face.
These staggering numbers remind us why themes like this year’s are so vital. Passing the microphone to those with lived experiences of mental health struggles is a crucial step in driving genuine change. By listening to real voices, we can break down stigmas and build authentic, supportive communities.
If you have a story about how mental health has impacted your life or that of a loved one, we encourage you to use your voice and share your experience in whichever way you feel most comfortable.

A calming bedtime routine helps your body shift from busy mode to sleep mode.
Choose three relaxing steps you can take before you go to bed. It might be dimming the lights, washing your face, trying a gentle yoga routine or stretching, reading, or listening to calming music.
Try them out, test what works for you, and then repeat them nightly so your body learns your sleep routine signals.

🏆️ We’ve won!🏆️
We’re delighted to share that Now Health International was recently named winner of the Digital Health Transformation Excellence Award at the IIC Asia Awards 2026, hosted in Singapore.
The category recognises health insurers who have shown leadership in using digital technology, such as telemedicine and data, to improve how healthcare actually reaches the people who need it.
Mental health support is one of the most difficult things to access when you live and work outside your home country. That’s one of the problems we have worked hard to solve, and we’re proud the judges recognised the difference they make.
Thank you to the organisers of the InsurInnovator Connect Asia conference, the IIC Asia Awards 2026 judges, and Matt and the team in Singapore for collecting the award. And last but by no means least, to everyone in our team who has contributed to making our digital wellbeing and mental health programmes a central part of our benefits.

When it comes to lunchtime habits, a solid 42% of you told us that taking a proper break is your top priority, closely followed by 38% of you who focus on eating away from your desk.
Interestingly, the more active habits like getting outside or moving for 10 minutes took a back seat. That shows that when lunchtime arrives, we aren’t necessarily looking to be active, we just want to disconnect from our workstations.
And that’s completely understandable. A mental break is sometimes exactly what we need!
Are you strict about taking a lunch hour, or are you occasionally guilty of eating “al-desko” on a busy day? And how many of you combine getting away from your desk with some form of activity, but prioritise disconnecting first?

Did you know that your heart beats 100,000 times a day, which is more than three billion times over an average lifetime?
This incredible organ works tirelessly for us, yet cardiovascular disease (CVD) claims over 20 million lives globally a year. The good news? Up to 80% of these deaths are preventable, but we need to make sure we act.
World Heart Day 2026 continues last year’s “Don’t Miss a Beat” campaign, designed to highlight and raise awareness of the often-overlooked hidden symptoms of heart disease. It serves as a powerful reminder to look out for the signs and to be proactive in protecting our hearts.
We can do this by:
❤️ Nourishing our bodies with a healthy, balanced diet
❤️ Staying active
❤️ Quitting smoking and reducing our alcohol intake
❤️ Managing our stress levels for a calmer mind and body
Today is the perfect day to start a new heart-healthy plan.
Make sure you don’t miss a beat, and you’ll be on the path to a healthier, happier life.
What heart-healthy choices do you make every day? Let us know in the comments and learn more about heart-healthy habits at bit.ly/4hMryqE.

Today is World Rabies Day, a global opportunity to continue raising awareness of a disease that is 100% preventable yet still claims around 59,000 lives a year. That’s one person dying of rabies every nine minutes.
This year’s theme is “Stronger Together”, designed to highlight that eliminating rabies requires a united approach.
We have all the tools to stop people dying of rabies by the end of the decade, but it all starts with awareness and simple, everyday actions. You can protect yourself, your loved ones, and your wider community by keeping a safe distance from wildlife, ensuring your pets are vaccinated, thoroughly cleaning any bites or scratches immediately, and seeking urgent medical care if exposed.
We all have a part to play in building safer, healthier, and happier communities.

Social connection supports both mental and physical well-being, and often starts with one small action. Who are you thinking of today? Send them a message and ask them how they’re doing. A brief check-in takes 30 seconds and can reopen or strengthen connections for both of you.
