Wow, I can finally call myself Dr. Novak! Truly grateful for the support and mentorship of my advisor @Dan_Foti, and honored to round out grad school with my #cohort4life @MeredithABucher
This morning I woke up having completed everything necessary for my degree! Changed my email signature, but shouldn’t there be a parade or something? 🙃#PhDone

While sharing my exciting post-PhD grad Eurotrip flight info, I notice my sweet partner entered suffix “PhD” on tix.
D: “He sure thinks a lot of this PhD thing, doesn’t he? Just wait until he runs into a Rhodes Scholar.”

The woman who taught me how to speak to young humans. Seriously, it wasn't until being supervised under Dr. Akey that I really figured out how to interact effectively with kids. Forever grateful for her wisdom!
Tonight we had a wonderful evening celebrating the retirement of Dr. Elizabeth Akey who has several as the director of our training clinic and a linchpin of our internal practica. Congratulations on your retirement Elizabeth! You will be missed!

3:30am airport thought: Would love to do comprehensive assessments on people who wear heels to the airport. Especially at 3:30am.
On flight, minding own business, when Man ~30-40 yrs my senior saw my Purdue Psychological Sciences shirt & offered condescending, sexist, & unsolicited opinion: "you will never get a job in psych," & "unless you get an adv degree." Oh, and "good luck with that." ...1/2
2/2 May order cocktail later & get his opinion whether "Keisha Novak, PhD" or "Dr. Keisha Novak" looks best on my UCSF nameplate.
