As part of the Apocalypse Museum I co-curated with @GavinGrindon for @GreenpeaceUK at Glastonbury this year, I made this installation of a Terminator robot painting an AI-generated image of an evaporated lake in collaboration with the incredible Tim Hunkin of @NovAutomation

Stepping through Tim Hunkin's automatic door at @ScienceMuseum's 'The Secret Life of the Home' gallery was like a playful leap through time. Don't miss this journey before it closes on June 2nd! @sciencemuseum @NovAutomation

The much-loved (but perhaps time-worn) “The Secret Life Of The Home” @sciencemuseum gallery is to close… so if you’ve never been to the basement or want a last👀: go before 2 June! Free tickets & blogpost on it: blog.sciencemuseum.org.uk/sa…
I thought I’d be sadder to see it go but…

Closing? No way! One of
@TimHunkin's amazing installations. As a child, this sparked my interest in the ingenuity present in so many everyday objects. His demonstration of the standing waves in a microwave oven is a particular favourite. @NovAutomation

We (@hueandcry) are playing in Holborn, in That There London, and it’s been a joy to walk past @NovAutomation each day. Finally went into play the “my nuclear reactor” game. Couldn’t fit the rods in, triggered a meltdown…but I did get my “nuclear waste” boiled sweet at the end

I went to @NovAutomation with @XRobotsUK and obtained some nuclear waste, a Nobel Prize, and these photos from a photobooth that Does Things to you. Very good 👍
ALT A scan of a set of four photobooth pictures labelled "the expressive photobooth" next to a "nuclear waste" themed sweet and a piece of embossed silver paper which reads: "peace prize Alfred Nobel".

London’s forgotten steam clock!
In 1984, Tim Hunkin & Andy Plant built a rare steam-powered clock (inc moving figures & whistle) for Chelsea Farmers Market. Maintenance-heavy, it’s not run for yrs: but maybe someone apt could offer to buy & relocate it…? timhunkin.com/31_giant_steam…

Great day out @NovAutomation - sort of a deranged lo-fi amusement arcade for insane Rube Goldberg/Heath Robinson enthusiasts! Made me think a bit more about experiential / immersive projects and that you don’t need fancy pants tech to be incredibly engaging and interactive. Great fun!
