Middle East history is weird. The USA supported mujahideen against Soviet Union, then Russia supported Taliban against USA 20 years later. Proxy wars are silly.
Ugg.. it has to be said. If your country is at war, you target military sites, bridges, power grids, and oil refineries.. Must be one of the first things taught in milatary schools.
I find it funny that Americans pronounce buggered —burgered. Slightly different meaning and so polite. Hehehe
All the parties are acting like Nannie’s. Freedom is a free choice.
NZFirst to Ban Public Sales of Fireworks
New Zealand First will campaign on banning the public sale and use of fireworks across New Zealand.
Last year we introduced a members bill to ban fireworks which received tremendous public support. The legislation is already written and ready to go - it will be tabled in parliament within the first hundred days of the next government.
Guy Fawkes is a little less than four weeks away and New Zealand will see once again the multiple damaging effects it will have.
The taxpayer should not be spending millions on something that drastically impacts pets, causes the inevitable fires, and causes havoc for our emergency services. Enough is enough.
The abuse and misuse of fireworks has far outgrown any of the benefits.
This is not about being ‘nanny state’, this is about bringing some common-sense into what is a desperately needed conversation about the future of fireworks in our community.
Many major retailers have already stopped selling fireworks long ago, and there have been calls from across the country to put a stop to the sale of fireworks completely.
The legislation will stop the retail sale, manufacture, and importation of fireworks for public use. It will still allow approved public displays to continue.
This is a response to what is a hugely predictable and preventable costs for ACC, the huge costs of emergency service call outs, and most importantly stopping the effects reckless use of fireworks has on farm animals and family pets.
Something I picked up from covid lockdowns.. never crowd someone in the grocery store.. keeping distance. Sadly it is something that I kinda like, you give people space and don't dive in if they are taking FOREVER to get what they need.
AI used at corporates, to reduce workforce but it still needs review from senior staff. If it replaces new staff, who will be senior in 5-10 years time to ensure it’s not rubbish?!
Ran into some drugged up middle aged people at the petrol station. They were running around their car like it was a nascar pit stop filling tyres. And giggling. It’s kinda scary people drive like that.
I need to get some recipes for pecan pie and pumpkin pie. It’s getting to be that time of year to start practicing… hehehe
I always have a giggle when I hear someone say I have done this 1000 times.. like really you have sharpened a knife 1000 times.. do you do that for a living or something?!
Remember the car phones? Hard set stands wired directly to the battery of the car. Stretched cord and no one was allowed to use it!!!
From first hand accounts, I rarely see anyone paying cash for things. Yet we get a 2.5% surcharge for using a credit card. If and when govt changes to no surcharge, I would hope that everyone would agree that Visa etc are not gonna charge less---it just means that its included.
I had a relative that ate sticks and twigs all the best stuff and did yoga, jogging, etc. and died at 47.. while my grandfather, drank, smoked unfiltered and ate meat all the time.. lived to 91. My take, do your best to enjoy the journey..
When I was 16 there abouts, my family decided to move.. I got the cat in my ute. Vet gave us some drugs to help if needed.. almost immediately I give it a dose.. wait 30 nothing.. give it another dose.. cat laid on the passenger floor drooling. My mom was not impressed. hehehe
Just finished reading Les Misérables for the second time. I think it might not be a good idea if politicians say let them eat cake! Just saying
My sticker collection got me two new Smeg knives. The nakiri is like a razor! It’s the small things in life…
