Updating my pinned post to be my whole playlist. A Tormach Introduction and Tutorial Series (TITS) if you will.
CNC is for everyone! Even if you don’t have one yet. You can learn 60-70% of this directly in the free version of Fusion360 and its simulator.

Sandblast tested my first type II anodizing attempt with 30PSI red garnet (what you would blast for anodized substrate pre-cerakote). This took way longer to eat away than I expected!
I now suspect a lot of the “type III hardcoat” I’ve blasted over the years is just bad type II!
Genuine question to those who know how “Paid Partnership” regs work.
I asked, they gave a discount code. No ask to post. No ask for anything actually. I like Made in USA factories, so I chose to. Does this count?
If someone sponsors a VIDEO and I post about the build, that count?
Better.
Still not good enough.
And I scrubbed them with simple green, after a long acetone soak and sandblasting!
Always the edges.
I’m starting to think that I need to be suspending the parts, so that they don’t touch any tank walls, during all stages. Not just the anodizing one
If you follow me for my desktop CNC/Anolex content & you’re not also following DG Machineworks, you’re messing up. Where my series shares through incremental projects. DG shares via raw, in your face feeds & speeds demonstrations and lecture style content

Don’t know how to stop the poll, but results are in! Middle road majority wins. All signs say anodized! Took dye. No conductivity. Surface is highly scratch resistant. Aggressive attack with an Allen key merely burnishes the surface.
1 negative. Uneven dye uptake along some edges
$10 says the uneven dye is one of two things.
1- Not clean enough before the lye etching step.
2- The only surface prep that was done on this was etching. No blasting, steel wool, wire brushing.
My first attempt at anodizing something in my garage is running right now. How do you think it will turn out?
28%Perfect, first try
62%Visually flawed but funct
10%Fail. You suck.
80 votes • Final resultsProject 1 of my Desktop CNC and metal milling test series is out. It’s a really easy project that, as expected, was doable on the machine. A @__MPMS__ SVTR alloy part
But the series also aims to teach noobs. So this was a 1 op, no vise, 2 tool gentle entry

And yes, the CAD files to print my little tool organizer are up too odysee.com/@NotaGunTuber:a/O…
I really want to examine a Para Ordnance P18.9
If you have one and are willing to disassemble it and take some pictures as well as a few measurements with calipers that would also be greatly appreciated.
More weirdo 10/22 drilling jigs! Yay!
And before anyone mentions it, yes, that ledge highlighted in red is purposeful! The original cast versions of these have draft angles that allow parts to fit. CNC version needs features that mimic this! Trigger packs are wider than bolts!

I dont want my CAM connected to internet.
>Pink anodized housings aren’t real and they can’t hurt you.
>What I see out of the corner of my eye.
Another instance of bullying works. @VOIDSPECLLC asked if I wanted to try a ACRD. Said no. Not really into that stuff. Ammo is expensive, I’m too poor.
They asked again so I said “only if it’s pink.”
This was months ago. Got this pic today.
Looks rose gold. Still probably out 🤣
This wonky idea had no business working so damn well and cutting that weirdly angled hole so damn cleanly!
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I needed more stick out on my ballnose for the final path with the final tool for the final receiver! I forgot to re-enter the longer length before running it! Hours of work gone! Hours!
I cannot explain how annoyed I am right now!
This is why I love a good boring path! For holes you need to stay super accurate to the CAD they can’t be beat!
That’s so tight I’m going to mask it off before @CerakoteFinish ! And no, I didn’t mar my barrel at the end. That’s just some silver gunk that got on there.
