Dex was hurt last year and the fanbase, media and people in the org thought he was dogging it. Idk why fans forget how bad his elbow was messed up last season. He went into camp hurt last year and barely practiced during it Carl Banks was calling him out online to the public. Apparently Schoen was shitting on him behind closed doors as well. Imagine you’re one of the lone bright spots of a team every year and fans, media and your own GM (who sucks at his job mind you) is disrespecting you because you arent healthy

On top of all that, you couldnt get a new contract extension after outplaying the one you were on (miss me with he just signed it. Take care of your best players) I would want out too especially after all the losing to go with what I previously mentioned. He clearly felt unappreciated and disrespected by the org, media and fans
