The number of Americans making jokes about Canadaโ€™s wildfire smoke is pretty pathetic. When your forests are burning, Canada sends firefighters, aircraft, equipment, and crews without hesitation. We donโ€™t sit online making memes while your communities are evacuated. Smoke doesnโ€™t stop at a border. Wildfires donโ€™t care what flag you wave. We help because thatโ€™s what good neighbours do. So maybe show a little gratitude, or at the very least keep the smug comments to yourselves. Acting like assholes while Canadians are losing homes and firefighters are risking their lives isnโ€™t the flex you think it is.
