F&B businesses are currently cut throat on margins plus rising costs in raw materials and Mum real estate makes it harder to base the price around affordability section unless it’s a cloud kitchen. With food inflation estimated to shoot up by 15-20%, the prices are bound to go up

In a highly developed country like Italy, an evening snack of a Sandwich (Tonno/Prosciutto Cotto) and a Coffee, say Macchiato, will cost about 4-6 E.
In most Cafes of Bandra, the coffee alone will be more expensive and the Sandwich will cost 150% of the coffee.
The worst part. This 4-6 E is affordable by vastly more proportion of the society than in India where a 1000 Rupee evening snack is beyond reach for 95% of the people.
Real estate is a major villain but there are many other reasons for such nonsense prices.
