This statue of St. George the Dragonslayer outside of the UN building in Manhattan is actually a statue made by a Georgian artist, Zurab Tsereteli. Named “Good Defeats Evil.” You can see the dragon morphs into a nuclear warhead, the UN displays this as a symbol for their hope for a world free of nuclear weapons. However, whatever they may desire this to mean, what it actually shows is Orthodoxy conquering the 20th century. Every major force in the world during this time desired our destruction, but like everything that came before and everything that will come, they failed. Made by Soviet hands, the atheistic state could still could not take away Orthodoxy from the hearts of Georgians.
