Russia's supporters ALWAYS lie. Even when it comes to publicly available facts, they can't be bothered to check anything to back their narrative up.
It is a strange world. Because 5.7 million people live in three small Baltic countries (whose total size is less than a Chinese Tier II city). and whose half of the population lives in Europe, and another third are Russians who cannot get citizenship, and because they have traumas and bad memories of the Soviet rule, the entire world of 8 billion people should go into a nuclear apocalypse and die.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Baltic countries lie entirely in Europe. Non-citizens comprise ~9% of Latvia's population, ~4-5% of Estonia's and near zero in Lithuania—not one third—while ethnic Russians total ~14% overall (most with citizenship). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_st… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russians_… stat.gov.lv/en/shrt/RIR2602 worldometers.info/population/cou…

President Zelensky refusing to surrender 20% of his country to Russia is not an “obstacle.” Russia demanding 20% of Ukraine is. You’re welcome. And #SlavaUkraïni

They drastically underestimate the people of Ukraine. They still think Zelenskyy is the problem. If he left tomorrow someone would pick up the torch and continue fighting. It's a crazy intelligence gap to be fair I don't see how the CIA could get something so wrong. Remember keep hitting refineries @ZelenskyyUa It's working.

Yes, it was. I've been claiming it for a while now.
Objectively, a vote for Yanukovych in 2010 was technically a vote for EU integration.

Vatniks like to show the 2010 election map and claim that people in eastern Ukraine voted for Yanukovych because they wanted Russia. Awkward detail: Yanukovych campaigned on European integration, with EU membership as a goal. Funny how the map never comes with his manifesto.

Western media isn't state controlled to produce one narrative like russian media – you can literally find anything, including russian propaganda there.

Hmmm... The guy who played a key role in starting russia's war, which he publicly admits, didn't mention NATO expansion as a motive. He mentioned russian imperialism. Weird.

Russia is getting a taste of its own medicine. St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad region came under the largest Ukrainian drone attack, with hundreds of drones targeting critical infrastructure. According to russian reports the following objects were hit: The St. Petersburg Oil Terminal. The VKontakte data center. The 330 kV Vostochnaya electrical station. A major cable-stayed bridge in St. Petersburg. Parts of the region experienced electricity outages and disruptions to water supplies. For years, russia has systematically attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, oil facilities, and civilian infrastructure, trying to plunge Ukrainian cities into darkness. Now, the war is increasingly reaching russia’s own critical infrastructure. Putin wanted to destroy Ukraine’s economy. Instead, he is destroying russia’s economy. Russia can stop this war at any moment by leaving Ukrainian territory.

There is no treaty or agreement of any kind where NATO promises not to expand. There is a signed agreement where russia explicitly accepts NATO enlargement.
OTD in 2016 Gorbachev stated quite categorically that he never received a promise by NATO not to admit new members to the alliance. He said the idea that Russia was betrayed is a myth. Which triggers my trolls.

28.02.2014: Ukrainian Defence Minister Warns of a Russian Invasion. Ukraine's acting Defence Minister Ihor Tenyukh reports to the National Security and Defence Council that Russia is concentrating troops along the Ukrainian border under the cover of military exercises. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, approximately 38,000 Russian troops, supported by hundreds of tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery systems, are already positioned along the approaches to Kyiv, Kharkiv and Donetsk. Tenyukh warns that these movements are “not merely a demonstration of force, but actual preparations for an invasion of our territory.” The Ukrainian military leadership is therefore already considering the possibility of a Russian attack on eastern Ukraine, including the Donbas. This warning comes six weeks before Russian-led armed fighters seize Sloviansk on 12 April 2014. While the world watches Russia's takeover of Crimea, Ukraine's military leadership is already warning that the Kremlin may not stop there.
