Confronting fear has always been a big part of my life. Fear is something we all experience. Some of our deepest fears come from knowing that life is fragile - that we can’t control everything, and we won’t be here forever. But we sometimes treat fear as proof that something should be avoided. Instead of questioning it, we start building our lives around it. Our world gets smaller, and fear gets more room. Like mold in a dark, stagnant place, fear can grow when we leave it unexamined. Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s being able to feel it without letting it make every decision. To move beyond fear, we often have to get closer to it. Not by ignoring real danger, but by understanding the difference between something that threatens us and something that simply makes us uncomfortable. Sit with it. Really make an effort to feel it instead of immediately pushing it away. Behind the racing heart, the sweaty palms, and the nervousness, you might find sadness. A recognition of your own vulnerability. Of how fragile this life really is. You don’t have to pretend you’re fearless. Acknowledge the fear. Listen to what it’s telling you. Decide whether the thing on the other side is worth the risk. And when it is - jump.
