More billions lost by @GovernmentZA The Auditor-General finds SASSA paid R1.33bn to ineligible grant recipients in 2025/26. R211m went to deceased beneficiaries—more than 11 times the R18.6m the year before. Another R266.8m reached government employees already on the payroll. Payments also went to invalid IDs and GEPF pensioners. Total social grant spend is about R244.5bn a year. The leak continues while databases stay poorly linked and death records update too slowly. @GovernmentZA is not working for South Africans.
