🖤 Shadow was originally supposed to die at the end of Sonic Adventure 2 and never return. Takashi Iizuka says Sonic Team initially planned to end Shadow’s story there, but the character became so popular after the game’s release that the team changed course and brought him back in Sonic Heroes. More than 20 years later, that popularity is still growing. Iizuka says Shadow has now risen to around the same level of popularity as Sonic following the third Sonic movie. Shadow is also Iizuka’s personal favorite character, and he says he wants to give him more opportunities and focus on him more in the future. #SonicNews
