Alternatively, we should do controversial metaphysics in order to rule this out

KD: “No, I didn’t think about that at all”
Well okay then
I haven’t taught a proper Intro to Philosophy class yet, but when I do, all of the curriculum will be designed to explain the references in this Monty Python sketch, the watching of which will be the culminating experience of the class

Hate it when people tell me “That’s a good point.” All my points are good. That’s why I make them.

Could someone tell Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews not to send 26 (that’s the actual number!) book reviews in 26 separate emails to by inbox all at once? Thanks in advance.

🚨 Da’Shaun L. Harrison at Socialism 2026 argues that the political deployment of GLP-1 drugs is “fascistic” because they exist in “a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
“The political deployment of GLP-1s is fascistic, not because individuals take them, but because the conditions under which they become necessary are shaped by a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
And to explain why that is supposedly fascistic, Harrison turns to Frantz Fanon and “Black flesh under colonial surveillance.”
If GLP-1s are already “body fascism,” the dual and triple agonists are going to require an entirely new theoretical vocabulary.
Neither of these things is true. A good teacher pays attention to how the writing process seems to be going for students, and I also bring things to grade while they write. Also, there are great apps that can transcribe student handwriting for you these days.
