An industry that measures talent through follower counts has built its gatekeeping system on numbers that can be purchased, botted, manipulated, and algorithmically buried. The independent artist with real ability gets ignored because he refuses to manufacture fake momentum or sell his identity for access. Algorithmic gatekeepers reward obedience to metrics they control and call the result merit.
