On September 19, in Hlevakha, Kyiv region, 39-year-old Nataliia Horbachenko and her young son Tymofii, who was just a month shy of turning three, died in a Russian attack.
The strike hit the very spot where they had taken shelter during the air raid alert.
That evening, Nataliia and her family was visiting her in-laws. When the alert sounded, she took the children to the ground floor of the house, where they lay down on the sofa, the strike hit that exact location just minutes later.
Nataliia is survived by two daughters: 14-year-old Myroslava and younger Karolina.
Her relative recalls her as a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her family, and Tymofii as a vibrant, curious boy whose arrival his parents eagerly anticipated.
