Excellent @OnLondon

Need funding for a project in North Ken or surrounding areas?
We can happen, with the power of community energy 💪💚- we've got £500 grants to give, if you match our criteria.

Thank you to @Ed_Miliband + others for taking the time to visit and learn about the amazing world of community energy!
Our solar panels are community owned. Local ownership: local benefit. That's £3k of profit reinvested in the community since Sept 💚🌞 @RepowerLondon @Comm1nrg

Last winter we had record energy prices & record energy company profits. This is unfair. So *we* are building a better system.
We've put renewable energy up on rooftops are distributing the profits so everyone can benefit. £500 project grants now open! docs.google.com/forms/d/1uWM…

We 💚 community energy, and it's always a pleasure to show people around.
We're building a better energy system and we'll keep going - and with government support we can do even more
Brilliant morning spent on the roof of Westway Sports Centre with Lord Callanan, @MartinCallanan, @Comm1nrg, @NorthKenCE and @RBKC admiring the community owned solar panels!
ALT A diverse group of people are standing together on the roof in front of solar panels.
In sum, main points from our AGM last week:
✨ 3% interest awarded to investors
✨ 5% of share capital will be repaid
✨ Finances strong
✨ Biggest ever addition to the community fund
✨ Up to £10k agreed for community engagement
plus
✨ new director Phil joins the board
When we partner with places like @thenourishhub we achieve amazing things - like our Greener Living Day in January, helping people to face the cost of living crisis.
So big news from last week's AGM: thanks to 💪finances, members voted for more ££ than ever to run similar events
We're delighted to welcome long-standing resident Philip to the board of directors, whose nomination was approved unanimously by members at this week's AGM.
&massive, mega thanks to directors @FranSpoerry and Dave who've stood down after years of genuinely invaluable service
The UK's energy system is outrageously unfair. Our model is better.
On Tuesday, our members voted to put our profits back into North Ken and the local area. Our community fund is now nearly £10k!
Find a community energy group near you and join them! @RepowerLondon @Comm1nrg 💚
Big news from last night's AGM: we are in profit! But unlike Shell & BP, we're structured so that our profits, by law, HAVE to benefit the local community.
Who are we?
We're a community energy co-op with ~230 members. We're building the world we believe in, and it's working.
*TODAY* on 20 June at 6.30pm we will have some very cool news at our annual general meeting.
Come along to Silchester Community Room (in North Ken) for:
> Review of 2022
> Our money situation
> Vote on spending the community fund
> Elect directors
Reminder 👇
It's our annual general meeting on Tuesday, 6.30pm @ the Silchester Community Room.
For: updates, to meet the volunteer group, spend the community fund, and more.
Hope to see you there! 💚
