A sausage ground beetle! 🪲
It's named for the marks on its wing cases - like strings of little sausages 🌭
Its thin head and mouthparts are perfectly adapted to butcher snails from inside their shells, pulling out the remains for a tasty meal. Escarg-ew! 🐌🗼

A colourful fungus, it was once popular as a table decoration; at one time, it was even used to decorate hats! 🎩

Moths without wings?! 🪽
This Pale Brindled Beauty was spotted on an oak tree at UEA, and like many other active female winter moths, she is completely wingless 😮
