Today and every day, we remember your great sacrifice and truly grateful for you!
State Center trustees voted to give taxpayer-funded projects to special interests — ignoring students & local workers. “The board picked politics over people.” They’re doubling down tonight. Students deserve better.

Proud to support AB 862 by @Castillo_AD58 which passed the Assembly Education Committee. This bill ensures CA tracks student interest in apprenticeship—helping address our construction workforce shortage and give trades the visibility they deserve. #ABCMeritShopProud #AB862
To solve CA’s construction workforce shortage, we need better data—starting in high school. AB 862 ensures students pursuing the trades are counted and supported. Proud to back Asm. Castillo’s bill as it clears Assembly Ed Committee. #ABCMeritShopProud #SkilledTrades #CAleg

Tomorrow, we hit the Capitol to advocate for workforce development, fair competition, and free enterprise.
ABC NorCal Government Affairs Team fights for fair, open competition at every level. We meet officials, organize contractors, engage the media, build coalitions, and testify to ensure the merit shop’s voice is heard. The fight isn’t easy, but we’re committed. #MeritShop
🚨 New: State Center moves toward union labor mandates 🚨 “Every dollar should be spent efficiently, to serve students, not create artificial competition.” – Matthew Estipona, Associated Builders and Contractors. Read more on PLAs impact on taxpayer dollars: ⬇️

🚨 Last night, State Center CCD moves forward with PLA talks, risking $700M in school projects & shutting out local nonunion contractors. Thank you to the local contractors who bravely spoke out for fair and open competition #NoPLA #FairCompetition
ABC NorCal is at State Center Community College District to give testimony against the proposed PLA. This backroom deal was done without proper procedures or transparency. PLAs limit competition, increase costs, & shut out qualified contractors from public projects. #NoPLA

After 17 years and $13.7 BILLION spent, no tracks have been laid on the High-Speed Rail project. Time to reprioritize funding to prevent wildfires & improve water infrastructure to better serve Californians.
Thank you @NBCLA @conanNBCLA for your coverage. nbclosangeles.com/news/local…

Californians demand an investigation into the $15.7 Billion spent on a project that’s decades late and billions over budget, with only concrete and rebar to show. The High Speed Rail Authority must be held accountable for taxpayer dollars.
🚨 Spotlight: @sencabaldon 🚨 As Mayor of West Sacramento, he fostered open competition & economic growth. We look forward to working together to support policies that build sustainable communities & a strong workforce! 💪🏗️ #ABCNorCal #WorkforceDevelopment #BuildCalifornia
🏛️ Grateful to the 11 legislators & their teams who met with us on 2/5 to discuss jobs, wages & workforce development in construction. 🚨 With CA’s bill deadline nearing, we urge lawmakers to promote policies that drive job growth & build sustainable communities.
