It's often said: White kids, upon being taught the history of racism, will feel guilty or bad about being White. In fact, White kids who receive antiracist history lessons exhibit fewer racist ideas about Black people while their attitudes about White people are unaffected.

Many are getting #MLK wrong.
He was a dreamer, but his dream was global, inclusive, and deeply rooted in love and commitment to eradicating what he called the Triple Evils.
Teachers, administrators, and school staff are excited about our Global Summer Institute! Go to nonviolentschoolsri.org for more info and to register. It's virtual! We teach proactive methods to address conflicts, therefore reducing violence in schools.

We teach and discuss the Letter From Birmingham Jail. Have you read it yet? If not, it is a brilliantly written national treasure. #belovedcommunity #readit #love
Relevant. Powerful. Needed.
On the 60th anniversary of my father’s #LetterFromBirminghamJail, I encourage us all to study it for application.
The truths, principles and strategy in the letter can help us implement the demands of justice today.

Today, and every day, we honor Dr. King's legacy by teaching his philosophy and strategies of Nonviolence to school staff and students. We love you Dr. King. Thank you!

Powerful: Ranking Member @RepMcGovern just read an entire book into the record.
“It's called The Life of Rosa Parks by Kathleen Connors. It was pulled from second grade classrooms in the Duval County public school district in Florida. So let's just see what's so objectionable.”
