People would like Neera if she was fucked up like this all the time

Replying to @Howard_Lovy
You could have just said "I'm a bigot whos only concern is money to Israel," it would have been a lot less typing

When Neera Tanden @neeratanden returned as CEO last year, the Center for American Progress stopped posting its donor names.
CAP then announced Antony Blinken, who ProPublica reported rejected U.S. reports on Israel blocking aid to Gaza, to its board.

they would rather let republicans win than give in to the demands of the left. they hate facing their voters.
James Carville says he'd rather have Republicans keep control of the House than Democrats winning the chamber by 5 seats.
"I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five, because if that happens, they’re hostage to the DSA. Like, Hakeem cannot move. There’s no place for him to go."

the President targeting a sitting member of the opposition party for arrest and deportation three weeks before the midterms would normally be a major story but it was ignored entirely by all four Sunday shows yesterday because the target is The Wrong Race, Religion and Ideology.

Hilarious to imagine that a culture of protests and riots is somehow foreign to FRANCE.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
Amazingly, this quote is real, it's from a Bulwark conversation between Bill Kristol and Carville.

Centrists who obsess about Hasan Piker are indistinguishable from FOX News culture warriors babbling endlessly about kids going to the bathroom in litter boxes. Just trying to distract everyone with nonsense to make up for their total lack of meaningful ideas

The commitment to memory-holing literally everything — his role in NAFTA, financial dereg, killing the public option, the coverup of the murder of a teenager — is deeply sociopathic, as is the national media‘s complicity.
A perfect encapsulation of this whole era of nihilism.

Talking like this and maligning DSA over this obvious hoax is enabling fascists.
Today, I received a threatening letter at my Grand Rapids, Michigan office that contained unidentified white powder. The letter, which claimed to be from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), made a direct and specific reference to an impending “civil war” beginning after the election. The letter sent to my office is similar to those received at other congressional offices across the country. The DSA has not yet addressed the attacks, either to condemn them or to take or deny responsibility. The Grand Rapids Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responded immediately.
Threats and extremism are not signs of strength—they are signs of a weak mind and weak character. Political intimidation has no place in our democracy, and leaders must condemn it, not excuse it. I’ll keep standing up to bullies on the right and the left.

Can you imagine believing schools have the budget to do this
Trump: "We have 5 states where your child goes off to school as Tim and comes back as Tammy 3 or 4 days later. It's true. And teachers make a decision. 'Goodbye Timmy I love you so much, I'll see you later.' And you say, 'Where's my son? My son is in the hospital.' Can you imagine? They don't even need approval"

Thank you to everyone who stood with me over the years. It’s been a scary journey but I have always been grounded in my work and ability to provide exemplary service to my constituents. Trump and his administration have been after me since I arrived in Congress. I have always stood up to him and that will never change. The pedophile protector will never silence me.
BREAKING WaPo:
Trump officials scrutinized Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2019. They didn't find citizenship issues.
The earlier review of Omar's immigration records looked at many of the same issues being investigated now. washingtonpost.com/national-…
I am sorry you feel your appearance did not go well and that you were somehow undermined by the absence of my co-host. IMO its inappropriate for you to attack her & our producer for my off hand decision. Let’s all be better and focus on Dems winning the midterms. It’s important.
Just seeing this. So will say again here, @emmyvigeland, that producer told our team on Tuesday that you would both be on the show. I assumed you'd both be on, particularly you, given the attacks you launched against me.
