My wife and I were talking about donating last night, and the first thing I saw this morning was this campaign. Be a blessing.
For my BIRTHDAY... here's what I want: Let's help heal some kids. Give to CURE. Any amount. I'll match you, personally. It's about $1,000 to pay for a surgery. I'll go up to $30k. Together, we'll be paying for 60 kids to have their lives changed. Like Grace, for instance. She's 11 years old. She's been in pain, almost her whole life. Those days are almost over. WORTH IT. Somehow I doubt we'll regret, in the end, paying for kids' surgeries. Give $500, maybe. I'll give the other. Whatever you want. Just go to cure.org/brant and I will match you! That's what I want for my birthday. Anybody in??

President Trump was not in the vicinity of the World Trade Center when it was hit. He was in Trump Tower, miles away from the towers and nearby One Liberty Plaza, which is/was also known as the US Steel building. There was public concern in the days following the attack that One Liberty Plaza might collapse, but the authorities repeatedly said it was structurally sound, and there's not currently any public evidence Trump went into it amid these collapse worries (?), much less that he was rushed out by firefighters. In varying language, he has repeatedly claimed for years he was at Ground Zero with a large crew of his workers helping with the recovery in the days after 9/11, but people who were definititely on site have said they never saw him or a Trump-organized crew on site and that it wouldn't make sense for them to have had access; there are pictures and videos of Trump in the neighborhood in the following days, in a clean suit, but not on the actual site. While campaigning in 2016, he told a version of today's story about being whisked away from One Liberty Plaza by big firemen, but he said in 2016 that the alleged incident happened "a couple of days" after 9/11 and claimed the creaky building was "not so far from us," instead of leaving open the impression he might've been a) inside it b) on 9/11 itself. xitter.cf/Acyn/status/2097340291…
Trump on 9/11: I was building a big building in New York, and I took the whole crew down there right after this happened., Wasn't too much we could do. We had other buildings, the United States steel building was creaking. I'll never forget two firemen. We thought it was coming down on top of us, and two firemen. Big, strong guys. And I'm not the smallest guy in the world. They grabbed me under the arms. They got to get out of here. And they literally lifted me up. This is not easy to do. I'm big. They lifted me up and they started running with me. I said, fellas, I can run myself.

Last night @SecKennedy defended the President’s claim that children receive vaccinations the size of a soda bottle. His explanation was that the President meant the cumulative volume of the whole schedule when he said he’d seen vaccinations “the size of a soda bottle being poured into a child.” OK, then let’s do the whole schedule. A vaccine dose is 0.5 milliliters. One tenth of a teaspoon. Every parent who has taken their kid in for shots has seen the syringe. It’s not a soda bottle. That’s absurd. The biggest visit of a child’s life is the 2-month visit. Five injections, about 2.5 milliliters, half a teaspoon. Everything a baby receives by injection in the first 6 months of life adds up to roughly 2 teaspoons. The whole schedule, birth through age 18, every recommended vaccine, including a flu shot every single year, comes to roughly 55 injections and under 30 milliliters. A shot glass holds 44. Eighteen years of childhood vaccines do not fill a shot glass. A 20-ounce soda bottle holds 590 milliliters. That is more than 20 times the entire schedule, more than 200 times the biggest visit, and more than 1,000 times an actual dose. No version of this claim comes anywhere near a soda bottle. An executive order was signed anyway. @SecKennedy also repeated that childhood vaccines were never tested in placebo-controlled trials. My colleagues and I have systematically reviewed every randomized trial of childhood vaccines back to 1940. Nearly all were placebo-controlled, every vaccine on the schedule was evaluated in at least one placebo-controlled trial, and close to half used plain saline or the equivalent. The mumps vaccine inside the MMR was proven against placebo in the 1960s. The first hepatitis B vaccine was proven in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1980. The 1954 polio trial randomized roughly 600,000 children to vaccine or placebo, still the largest medical experiment ever conducted. So here is where we are. The President described something that does not exist and could not exist, a soda bottle of vaccine poured into a child, the same instinct as suggesting people inject disinfectant. And when the Secretary of Health and Human Services was asked a simple yes-or-no question about whether it was accurate, he couldn’t say no. He defended it. The nation’s top health official either doesn’t know what a vaccine dose looks like or won’t say so, and I honestly don’t know which is worse. Nobody around this president will correct him, even about a syringe, even with children’s health on the line. So the fantasy stands, the executive order stands, and parents are left frightened of something that was never real, in the middle of the worst measles year since 1991, with over 2,500 cases and counting. The arithmetic takes five minutes. The fear takes five seconds. That’s the whole strategy.
Michaelson: In terms of that idea of it’s the size of a soda bottle. I mean, that's not accurate. Right? RFK JR: What you should be concerned with is the fact that none of these vaccines have been tested in placebo controlled trials. (This is a claim that he has made across multiple interviews and has been fact checked before. After this segment ended, CNN brought on an infectious disease doctor who said this claim is false)

It's just a matter of being honest. Don't tie anyone down. But the truth matters and we've numbed ourselves to the theatrics and distortions.
Tie your MAGA uncle to a chair, prop his eyes open like clockwork orange and make him watch this clip.

Vaccines do not cause autism Vaccine doses are nowhere close to “the size of a bottle of soda,” they’re a fraction of a teaspoon The combo MMR vaccine is not “quite lethal,” it’s been very safe for more than five decades There are no separate M/M/R shots available in the US and won’t be anytime soon  Autism prevalence wasn’t “1 in 10,000” in 2006, it was 1 in 110 No state has been requiring little kids to get “72 jabs,” nor even by age 18 Fact check on the rapid-fire vaccine misinformation President Trump delivered yesterday while pushing to change US vaccine policy: cnn.com/2026/08/11/politics/…

Fact check on some of President Trump's comments at his Cabinet meeting: - On the cyberattacks against local water systems, there’s absolutely zero basis for Trump’s bizarre assertion that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was “behind it.” Trump made no mention of the governors of the six other states the FBI says have been targeted this week. CNN reports that US and state officials consider Iran a suspect in the attacks. - Trump said Iran still has “some” missiles and “some” drones but then said a bit later, again, that “everything is all gone,” which he had implicitly fact-checked himself with his acknowledgment that not everything is all gone... - Trump said he’s “ended eight wars.” He simply hasn’t; his list is wildly inflated; see my previous tweet. - Trump said, “We're building more factories and plants in this country than we've ever built before.” The White House could not identify any source for this claim when I inquired this week. Federal figures show that spending on manufacturing construction has declined month after month this Trump term after a spike that occurred during most of the Biden presidency. - Trump said, "When we took office, we inherited a total catastrophe. The last administration created the worst inflation in 48 years.” The inflation rate did hit a 40-year (not 48-year) high under Biden, 9.1%…but that was in June 2022, two-and-a-half years before Trump returned to office, when he inherited a rate of 3.0%, which was lower than the 3.5% rate of this June. - Trump said, "This month, it was announced that inflation is dropping at the fastest rate in more than six years.” *Did* drop last month, true, but not “is dropping” now; the steep decline of June was largely because gas prices fell sharply amid the ceasefire with Iran. In July, gas prices have jumped back up. - Trump said, as usual, that Biden let in “25 million” migrants, a massive exaggeration even wilder than the previous “21 million” figure he has further inflated without explanation; he also said, as usual, that Biden let in 11,888 murderers, a gross distortion of federal data on people who entered over the course of decades including Trump’s own first administration. We're not doing this very well.
The State Department said it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.

I think we can do better.
It’s may seem silly and trollish to have to ask the question and yet to watch this Trump nominee sit there and be so obviously afraid of answering is alarming and should be a bigger deal than it will be seen as. He was willing to admit Trump pardoned a convicted drug kingpin, but he couldn’t admit Trump lost the 2020 election. This is the damage Trump has done to our politics and this guy is supposed to be trusted with American intelligence? And yet, he might be an upgrade from the previous occupant in this office.

Every year, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil. #MemorialDayWeekend
