Attempts to claim our Ayudha Pooja tradition as their own are concerning. It may seem amusing today, but tomorrow it could turn into a serious cultural controversy. The government must take such attempts to appropriate our traditions in the name of other religions seriously. Protecting India’s ancient culture and heritage is our collective responsibility.

A protester in Bengaluru called Karnataka CM D K Shivakumar a “hypocrite”, questioning why he is protesting against the Election Commission in Delhi with Rahul Gandhi while protesters in Bengaluru were allegedly stopped from marching.
The protester also alleged that police misbehaved with women and pulled at their clothes during the crackdown.

Internet services suspended within a 4-km radius in New Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the temporary suspension of internet services. Internet services will remain suspended within a 4-kilometer radius around the Janpath–Kartavya Path crossing. Services will remain suspended from 10 PM on October 9 to 10 PM on October 10.
