That first kiss hits different when neither of them knows what to do next.
On our second date, Maya told me her ex-boyfriend had made her feel trapped in their relationship. Four months later, I discovered the part of the story she had never told me. That night, Maya showed me screenshots of their old conversations. He always made me feel like I was asking for too much, she said. From what she showed me, her ex had repeatedly asked her to stop checking his location whenever he went out and demanding screenshots to prove who he was spending time with. I felt sorry for her. Nobody wants to feel insecure in a relationship, and I believed she deserved someone who could make her feel safe. You deserve to be with someone who gives you peace of mind, I told her. She reached across the table and held my hand. That’s why I like you,she whispered. You actually listen to me. At the time, I thought her willingness to open up about her past was a sign that she trusted me. I had no idea that, over the next few months, the same story would begin to make me question everything I thought I knew about her. At first, it was just a feeling I couldn't explain. Then the little things started adding up.

THE EMPTY MAN tells the story of James Lasombra, a former police detective whose life is marked by grief and isolation after losing his family. When a teenage girl disappears, James is asked to investigate by the girl’s concerned parents. What initially appears to be an ordinary missing person case soon leads him into a disturbing mystery involving a group of teenagers and an urban legend about a supernatural figure known as the Empty Man. According to the legend, anyone who hears about the Empty Man can summon him through a strange ritual. The story sounds like another frightening tale passed between teenagers, but the more James investigates, the more unsettling the evidence becomes. The missing girl appears to have been involved with a secretive group that believes the Empty Man is real. Their activities lead James toward a mysterious organization whose members seem to understand far more about the phenomenon than they are willing to reveal. As he follows the trail, he encounters disturbing symbols, strange visions, and events that challenge his understanding of reality. James believes that if he can discover what happened to the girl, he can make sense of the nightmare surrounding her disappearance. But the investigation begins raising a far more disturbing possibility. What if the legend is not simply a story people believe? What if the belief itself is part of something much larger?

She's Joffrey's lucky escapee, Tyrion's unpaid alimony, and Ramsay's final victim turned CEO 😭 She didn't go through marriage history, marriage history went through HER. Started as a 12-year-old dreaming of a prince, ended as Lady of Winterfell who learned never to trust a man with a nice cape.
Is Sansa Stark Joffrey’s widow, Tyrion’s ex-wife, or Ramsay Bolton’s widow? 😭💀 Girl went through an entire marriage history in Westeros!

Technically none of the above 💀 Joffrey: Betrothed, never married. He died before the wedding. She was just his fiancée who dodged a nuke. Tyrion: Married, never consummated. In the books she's STILL his wife. In the show it was never annulled either. So legally, Tyrion's wife. Ramsay: Married in the SHOW only. In the books she never meets Ramsay - that was Fake Arya (Jeyne Poole). So Show!Sansa IS Ramsay's widow. Girl is simultaneously a spinster, a wife, and a widow. Westerosi law is broken.

A couple of weeks ago, I threw my daughter a tea party for her 7th birthday at a small local play centre. I invited about 18 of her friends. The invitation clearly stated that the children should bring their dolls and stuffed animals as honoured guests. It also mentioned that there would be a toy-painting activity. The owner of the play centre is a lovely mother who went out of her way to make everything stress-free for me. She handled almost everything so I could relax and enjoy the party with the children. I was initially worried about the paint staining clothes, but she assured me that it should come out easily if anything got stained. ...

STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENCY RESPONDS TO GOVERNOR MAKINDE’S CLAIM ON NLNG DIVIDENDS The Presidency wishes to clarify Governor Seyi Makinde’s @seyimakinde claim that the Federal Government is withholding ₦250 billion in @officialnlng dividends for each state of the Federation. At the 2027 Budget Stakeholders’ Consultative Engagement held at the Olola Ogunlana Hall, International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, on Friday, Makinde claimed the funds would not be released until after the 2027 elections. He further claimed that the Federal Government had spent the money. “Each state was supposed to get ₦250 billion. We had already identified projects that would expand Oyo State’s economy. But they have now said the money will not be paid until after the election. Is the election more important than the people of Nigeria?” the governor said. Makinde's latest claim that the Federal Government is withholding the NLNG dividend windfall is false and should be disregarded. Here are the facts the public should know about how the Federation Account is managed and how money is shared among the three tiers of government. Even as a one-off distribution, ₦250 billion to each of the 36 states amounts to ₦9.0 trillion, excluding the Federal Government, the FCT, and the 774 local councils. Under the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) formula, states receive 26.72% of the distributable Federation Account revenue. For the states’ share alone to reach ₦9 trillion, total NLNG dividends paid into the Federation Account would have to exceed ₦33.68 trillion (about $25 billion) in a single declaration. NLNG has never paid $25 billion in dividends to the Federation Account in a single payout. NLNG and Historical Dividend Context: NLNG has paid approximately $21.5 billion in dividends to the Federation over the last 25 years, with less than $3 billion realised since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office. Therefore, any claim that a single payout exceeds the company’s entire lifetime distribution to the Federation—and is being withheld—defies basic logic and economic reality. We expect Governor Makinde to be more measured in his public conduct and utterances. Since he embarked on his presidential bid, he has chosen to play politics by making misleading claims rather than presenting verifiable facts. Indeed, he has turned false, unguarded statements and claims into an art form. He once described the huge financial flow from the federation account to states, including Oyo, as 'voodoo'. Under Nigerian law, Governor Makinde is free to pursue his presidential ambition. He should desist from making falsehoods and disinformation the hallmarks of his campaign. We urge the public to disregard these unfounded claims, which serve only to mislead citizens and stoke needless disaffection against the Federal authorities. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy) October 18, 2026

Creativity is the ability to recognize patterns where others see unrelated things. Learn a principle in one field, strip it to its essence, and apply it somewhere unexpected. The more connections your mind can make, the more original your ideas become.

My wife told me I was embarrassing her because I refused to keep paying for her younger brother's lifestyle, and the argument ended with her saying she wished she had married a man who understood what family meant. When I married Olivia, I knew her family was important to her. I never had a problem helping them when I could afford it. If her mother needed money for medication or her brother needed help with rent, I usually sent something without making a big deal out of it. I believed that when you marry someone, you also make room for the people they love. The problem started when her younger brother, Ethan, lost his job. At first, Olivia asked me to help him cover his rent for one month while he searched for another job. I sent the money immediately. A month later, she asked me to help him buy a laptop so he could apply for jobs online. I bought it for him. Then he needed money for transportation, then money to repair his car, and then money because he had an interview in another city. Every request came with a reasonable explanation, so I kept helping. Six months later, Ethan still had no job, but he somehow had money to go on weekend trips, buy expensive sneakers, and take his girlfriend to restaurants I had never visited with my own wife. One evening, I was checking my bank statements when I realized how much I had sent him. It was more than $7,000 in six months, and that didn't include the things I had purchased for him directly. I showed Olivia the figures and told her I couldn't continue funding him indefinitely. I wasn't saying I would never help again, but Ethan needed to start taking responsibility for his life. She stared at the screen and asked, “Are you seriously keeping records of everything you've done for my family?” I told her I was keeping records of my own spending, just as any responsible adult should. She said the money meant nothing compared to the fact that her brother was struggling. I asked her why he could afford expensive outings if he was struggling so badly, and she immediately accused me of judging him because he wasn't as financially successful as I was. I let the conversation end there because I didn't want another argument. Two weeks later, Olivia told me Ethan had found an apartment closer to the city and needed help paying the deposit. I asked how much he had saved himself. She said he hadn't saved anything because he was trying to get his life together. I refused.

When I moved into my new house, I installed a high-speed internet connection. My landlady ran a small business, so I offered to let her use my Wi-Fi instead of paying for her own internet. She was grateful. What I didn't know was that my female neighbour had been using my landlady's Wi-Fi without my knowledge. And somehow, she'd become so comfortable with it that she believed she was entitled to keep using it. A few days after my landlady cancelled her old subscription, someone started banging on my back door. It was my neighbour. "Finally! When are you fixing your internet?" she asked. ...

I found out my girlfriend was cheating because she forgot which lie she told me. For eight months, I believed I was in a happy relationship with Sabrina. We rarely argued, she called me every night, and she always insisted that honesty was the foundation of love. Then one Friday, she told me she was spending the weekend with her cousin. I wished her a good time and went about my evening. Around 10 p.m., my phone rang. It was a man I didn't know. “Are you Sabrina's boyfriend?” he asked. “Yes. Why?”

Sometimes you don’t actually want advice. You just want somebody to listen to you without immediately trying to fix what you’re saying. You already know the situation is complicated. You already know what you probably should do. You just needed somewhere to put the thoughts in your head. Not every conversation is a problem waiting for a solution. Sometimes a person is simply tired and wants to be heard.

My girlfriend asked me to pay for her wedding dress, I spent $5,000 on my fiancée’s wedding dress, and after same weeks later, I discovered she was planning to marry someone else. Two weeks before our wedding, I slept with her best friend, and now my ex-fiancée is married to another man wearing the dress I paid for. I'm 32, and until recently, I genuinely believed I was about to start the happiest chapter of my life. My fiancée, Lauren, and I had been together for three years. We had booked our wedding venue, sent out invitations, paid most of the deposits, and started preparing our apartment for life after the wedding. Lauren had always dreamed of wearing a particular designer wedding dress. When we finally found one she loved, it cost almost $5,000. I won't pretend that was a small amount of money, but I could afford it, and seeing how happy she was made me feel that every dollar was worth it. She hugged me in the bridal shop and said she would remember that moment for the rest of her life. Our wedding was supposed to take place in two weeks. Then her best friend, Chloe, came to stay with us temporarily because she was having problems with her apartment. Lauren suggested it would only be for a few days, so I didn't object. Chloe had visited us several times before, and I never imagined her presence would become the reason my wedding fell apart.

Someone sent my fiancée screenshots of messages I never wrote. By midnight, she was gone. Three weeks before our wedding, my fiancée, Nadia, called me at work and asked one question. “Why did you tell my sister I was cheating on you?” I laughed because I genuinely thought she was joking. Then she sent me screenshots. Someone using my name had messaged her sister, claiming Nadia had been seeing another man and that I was planning to cancel the wedding. The messages included details about our private arguments, the venue we'd booked, and a conversation we'd had the previous night.
