What David Grusch said on @joerogan represents an entire strata of fairly consistent, highly specific overlapping stories told by many people over many years. If you are just hearing it now for the first time and are skeptical, you should know that there are generals, scientists, commandos, politicians', versions as well. It just goes on and on. You can't make it go away by saying "That particular guy has a mental problem." There are dozens of such sober sounding people with a breathtakingly enormous overlap. It would be the world's largest flash theater troupe of master actors. Or an emergent mass delusion. I find it all but impossible to explain. At some point you do have to ask: "What if I just take it literally?" That's not a huge improvement mind you (e.g. All aliens have tetrapod body plans??? Really????). But it's a kind of weird you have likely never experienced if you stare it in the face. No matter how you slice it. As I have been saying: something HUGE is up. And keep your eyes on New Mexico: Nukes-Trafficking-UAP-Physics-Espionage-"Drones". All the stories converge there.

😂 so the obvious was true, that game should’ve ended like every other game ever Instead Michigan gets a win it didn’t deserve and the ref who made the decision faces zero consequences…great work everyone
The FBS Oversight Committee says in a statement that "instant replay protocols were not followed in the contest’s second-to-last play" in the Western Michigan-Michigan game, and "had the protocols been followed, the outcome of the game would have been different." FBS oversight committee says it cannot overturn the result.

So, wins can be vacated for student athletes having their dinners paid for, but in the matter of right and wrong for the outcome of a contest, we just shrug it off?!!

The NCAA's FBS oversight committee acknowledged that replay protocols were not properly followed at the end of Western Michigan's controversial loss to Michigan in Week 1 but said it does not have the authority to overturn the result of the game. spr.ly/6014BGpD5n

Michigan has paid $648 million for athletic department scandals since 2020. That's more than double the next 19 public schools combined.

I think we have a ~50% chance of all dying as a result of superintelligence, mostly due to actions in the next few to 10 years. I don't expect to have that resolved to below 10% or above 90% before we either make it through, or we don't. We will have to act despite uncertainty.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

FOX Sports rules analyst Mike Pereira: "Replay officials have been told that if there is a discrepancy, use the television footage. Do not use your footage in the command center. Use the footage that ten million people are watching, not the one that's three. ...Don't use footage that they can't see. ...They [Big Ten replay booth] didn't follow the protocol."

The statement comes out hours after the game, contradicting itself, and you're doubling down on protecting the brand. Join a conference, especially this conference? Pound sand.

@bigten You’ve given us the explanation. Now show us the evidence. Release the synchronized replay and stadium-clock view used to determine the ball was touched with :01 remaining. NBC, CBS and millions of viewers saw something very different. Transparency ends the controversy.
