This is insane
We benchmarked DeepSeek V4.1 Flash by @deepseek_ai . It reached 98% of GPT-6 Astra’s score at 1.4% of the cost on everyday design tasks based on user requests. Every model except Astra scored lower AND cost more. Are open models overtaking closed ones? Full results below ↘️

DeepSeek plans to officially release the V4.1 Flash model around September 10, 2026 (Beijing Time). After extensive internal and external testing, V4.1 Flash has comprehensively surpassed V4 Pro across all key metrics, including performance, cost, speed, and task completion time. In keeping with our commitment to user responsibility, following the official launch of V4.1 Flash and prior to the release of V4.1 Pro, all requests to the Pro model will be routed to V4.1 Flash and billed at Flash's price as below. The new pricing will take effect at 4:00 UTC, September 10, 2026.

Hope.
I’m excited to step into the role of President at Ava Labs. I’m grateful to John for his trust and to the entire team for the foundation they have built over the past seven years. I’m also fortunate that John will remain closely involved as Senior Advisor. We are entering an important moment. Financial markets are becoming 24/7, tokenization is moving into real-world use, and AI will create economic activity that legacy infrastructure was never designed to support. Avalanche was built for this world. My job is to help Ava Labs turn that opportunity into durable growth. That means operating with greater clarity, focus, and speed while listening closely to our builders, partners, customers, and community. There is a great deal of work ahead, and I could not ask for a better team to do it with. I’m excited to get started.

Great for business too 🤫
anyone new to local ai, you bought the gpu, set it all up, and the first agentic framework you reached for is openclaw, i'm sorry, ngmi. your setup is going to feel bloated and fall apart, and you'll end up blaming local ai when local ai was never the problem. run hermes agent instead. best harness out there for local models or honestly anything, small to huge, an 8gb card up to a datacenter, it just holds. try it before you come argue with me. then come back and thank me.

What’s the best open source version of Claude Cowork that a) allows you to plug in @OpenRouter or @bittensor b) works with local models and c) is optimized for the average knowledge worker (Hermes and OpenClaw too complex for normies) Right now Perplexity computer is my best choice (doesn’t do local models yet)
