"They booed Dick Allen every night, often using the N-word & threw pennies, bolts or beer bottles at him. Off the field, they sent him hate mail & dumped garbage on his front lawn. Philadelphia’s sportswriters excoriated him as a rebel who manipulated race and expected special privileges."

Wait a minute…do you mean to tell me Ted Williams didn’t just start his swing and hope it was a strike like that Pool Hustler @Teacherman1986 teaches? Shocking! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @SliderDominate @SimplyAJ10 @_mcameron44 @CameronMaybin

Yeah, tell that to Kyrie Irving.
John Wooden said, "A player who makes a team great is more valuable than a great player. Losing yourself in the group, for the good of the group, that’s teamwork."
Great teams have teammates that come together.
They know unity and teamwork are essential.
A great team isn't made up of individuals seeking personal glory, but of people who trust each other enough to work towards a common goal.
What do great teams have?
Great teams have trust - This means team members feel confident in each other's abilities and intentions, creating a safe environment for taking risks and sharing ideas.
Great teams have commitment - People are dedicated to the team's goals and willing to put in the necessary effort and time, even in challenging circumstances. It means sacrifice and putting ego aside.
Great teams care about each other - There's a sense of camaraderie and concern for everyone. Caring isn't just words, it's a core part of the culture where people care for your well-being and your future. This strengthens team bonds and collaboration.
Great teams have communication - Open, honest, and clear communication is practiced, ensuring everyone is on the same page and misunderstandings are minimized.
Great teams have strong leadership - Great teams have multiple leaders at all hierarchies of the team. These leaders guide, inspire, and support the team, setting a clear direction and fostering a positive team culture.
Great teams have adaptability - There will be challenges and great teams know how to adjust when new obstacles arise. They can adjust to these new challenges, changes in the environment, or shifts in strategy, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
Great teams have standards and accountability - There is always a sense of ownership, responsibility, and candor. Everyone embraces the standard. People take responsibility for their actions and performance and respectfully hold each other to high standards.
Great teams have a shared vision - There is never a question in what are our goals and what is our WHY. Everyone understands and is aligned with the team's objectives and purpose, it drives unified efforts towards common goals.
"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results" - Andrew Carnegie
Do you mean that these moves can kill you?

“I was always paying for new windows all over neighborhood. Neighbors wouldn’t even bother to ask who was responsible. They would just come & tell me it was Dickie again. No baseball fields in all of Chewton or Wampum that could hold a stone if Dickie hit it good."
Mrs. Era Allen
Who the f#&k does that? Folks, don't buy such bullshit!

Congratulations to Caitlyn Clark! Great player and a class act.
However, not one TV channel's coverage today mentioned she has played 46 more games than Pete Maravich, who played without a 3-point line and averaged 44.2 pts/game. Clark has averaged 28.3 pts/game. Do the math.
Why are we even thinking like this? Manuel Margot, when the Dodgers have an abundance of young pitchers? Wtf? Like, where are we going with this team?

Of the players whose careers intersected with him, only Mantle‘s lifetime OPS+ of 172 topped Dick Allen’s lifetime 156. His career 156 currently ranks Allen 20th all-time. He ranks 6th all-time among RH hitters, tied with Willie Mays, ahead of Aaron & DiMaggio.
In my HOF!!
And Simon and Garfunkel extolled the virtues of Joe Dimaggio in their song, "Mrs. Robinson"?
The Yankees are going after Snell. What are we doing? Not much. We sign Hendriks who cant pitch until 2025. What about this year? Bring back Dombrowski. Breslow is the 2.024 version of Chaim.

“I can’t believe that Babe Ruth was a better player than Willie Mays. Ruth is to baseball what Arnold Palmer is to golf. He got the game moving. But I can’t believe he could run as well as Mays, and I can’t believe he was any better an outfielder.”
Sandy Koufax
Could you imagine Travis Kelce doing that to the Detroit Lions Coach, Dan Campbell? That confrontation would be worth the price of a Super Bowl ticket.
