At Donna Nook today, as well as the Isabelline Wheatear: Skeins of 21 & 34 WF Geese in off - one with a Tundra Bean Goose tagging along, 6 Woodcock, 2 Black Redstart, Firecrest and Spotted Flycatcher
Looked like it was another slog of Donna Nook with no biggy until very late on this Isabelline Wheatear appeared right in front of me!
Donna Nook today - the best I could manage of a typically active Yellow-browed Warbler + photos of an interesting Willow Warbler with clean white underparts
The Lincs coast is usually such a hard slog for little reward, so it was refreshing to see it alive with migrants during the recent easterlies
Pacific Golden Plover at Donna Nook yesterday - not often I get patch ticks these days so most welcome! Also Southern Migrant Hawker again at Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR
Southern Migrant Hawker still present today at Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR and a bit more co-operative.
One of two Lesser Emperors at Cleethorpes Country Park this morning + Red-veined Darter, 4+ Hairy and plenty of Red-eyed Damselflies
The Rimac area was certainly productive today - Hoopoe, Temminck's Stint, Spoonbill, Red Kite, Common Crane, male Common Redstart and my first Hairy Dragonfly of the year
Odonata season is underway on Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR with 4 Large Red Damselflies seen today. Also this obliging Yellow Wagtail seen on the reserve.
2 Firecrests and a mobile male Ring Ouzel at Donna Nook today. I'm presuming they are pollen horns around the Firecrest's beak - evidence it was foraging in southern climes not long ago. Also Yellow Wagtail over, 2 Wheatears and 2 Willow Warblers
Caspian x Herring hybrid? Yellow X7VE at Cleethorpes Country Park today. Ringed in a mixed colony in eastern Germany.
A skulky Firecrest at North Cotes Point the past 2 days and a probable Siberian Lesser Whitethroat at RSPB Tetney Marshes today.
Chuffed to pick up a calling Richard's Pipit flying over at Saltfleet this afternoon. Seen to then hover and land in an adjacent field. Brief views on the ground from distance... #longlegs
