The moment I realize a game has GenAI assets, I lose all interest.
I am not spending my hard earned money or limited time on a game that is just stopped commissioned from a computer.
If you aren't passionate enough to actually make the game, why should I care?
I respect Horii's accomplishments & contributions & I understand many have differing opinions of GenAI & that's fine, this is mine.
Nothing worth doing is easy, especially in creative works. I find no joy in having a computer "make" something for me. It is antithetical to life.
Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii has released a new game, which he claims was made in “just about 30 minutes,” with generative AI.

I value human made creative works because I can feel and resonate with the joy, the pain, the sorrow, the frustration, the personal growth that went into them.
I don't feel that in AI works. To me, they hold no value. They are but soulless husks of code and amalgamated pixels.

Man, it sure doesn't feel like it but Dragon Quest Monsters 2 turns 25 today. I still vividly remember the summer breaks I spent going on endless adventures outside of Greatlog. Those good old days. 🥹
