Today, we remember the 116 children and 28 adults who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.
We remember the families, the community, and all those whose lives were changed forever.
They will never be forgotten.

For those at the back, who are still struggling with this - Many Muslim women who have managed to free themselves will tell you what it’s really like to live behind a veil.
Will tell you about the coercion that leads up to the acceptance of that way of life.
Will tell you about the isolation.
Will tell you about how leaving has meant they have to adopt a new identity and move miles or even continents, in order to live safely.
When Labour councillors, ever keen to expand Council-led Community Safety powers, think the issue of face coverings is limited to working class kids in balaclavas on e-bikes and that discussing the wider individual rights and freedoms complexities around full face coverings is inappropriate, you know they either don’t have the capacity for the wider debate they themselves opened up, or they intend to silence it through faux outrage, exactly as they did with the “LGBTQ+” women’s rights and child safeguarding debate.
Some of us will not be silenced.

Officers pay the subscriptions. The bureaucracy spends the money. And we’re still waiting, with bated breath, for anyone at the Fed to be held accountable for such historic failure.

I delivered this speech with my father very much in my mind. By the end, the memory of the goodbye I never, had overwhelmed me.
But behind the emotion is an urgent issue. @HospiceUK and @HospicesCymru estimate Welsh hospices need an additional £30m over the remainder of this Senedd term.
The Welsh Government must deliver the sustainable funding settlement it promised to keep beds open, retain specialist staff and protect dignity at the end of life.
“I know what it means not to have that goodbye, and that is why I want other families to have the opportunity that I did not because there are many things that Government can postpone, but a final goodbye is not one of them”.
I spoke with my father in my heart and for every family who deserves that chance 💔

Unite (The Union) are a scourge on women’s rights and safety.
I couldn’t let this hypocritical Green Party councillor’s claim to suddenly have remembered what a woman is, and why it matters, to go unchallenged.
I supported his motion in principle and with my vote, as unrealistic as it was. However, I will never let these men forget or cover over their shameful complicity with the wholesale sell-out, by the unions and the Left, of women and our rights.

I have lost count of how many times I’ve been yelled at abusively within formal settings by Labour men, including last night. Councillors, committee chairs, Cabinet Members - exclusively, men who claim to be on the ‘compassionate’ side of politics.
