Good morning, my digital friends 😃
Tuesday is wet, grey, and properly raining cats and dogs this morning. Still, the week is moving, and so are you.
A few quieter dog facts for the weather. 🐶
Dogs have a special organ in the roof of their mouth, the Jacobson’s organ, that lets them “taste” certain smells, especially pheromones. Their wet noses also help trap scent molecules, which is why a damp nose is better for tracking. 🐕
Smaller dogs dream more often than big ones, cycling through REM sleep more quickly. They can hear sounds up to about 65,000 Hz, far beyond what we can, and some can detect changes in a person’s blood sugar or an oncoming seizure minutes before it happens, just by smell. 🐾
When a dog and its person lock eyes, both release oxytocin, the same bonding hormone that strengthens the connection between a parent and child.
Stay dry if you can. Have a great Tuesday 🫶

A cow cannot add a single atom of carbon to the sky, and the people who say she can have never followed one atom round.
Grass is made out of air. The plant pulls carbon dioxide down and builds a leaf from it.
The cow eats the leaf. The carbon is now in the cow.
Some of it comes back out of her as methane. One carbon atom, four hydrogens, belched.
Methane lasts about 12 years up there. Then it breaks back down into carbon dioxide.
The grass pulls it down again. The cow eats the grass again. The same atom, round the same loop, since the first grazing animal walked onto the first grassland 50 million years ago.
Nothing is added. The cow is a carbon atom's way of getting from one blade of grass to the next.
A car works differently. The petrol was carbon that spent 300 million years locked under rock. Burn it and that carbon is in the sky, new, for a thousand years, and no cow on earth can bring it back down.
A herd that stays the same size adds no warming at all. The methane going up equals the methane breaking down. Her grandmother's belch is already in this year's hay.
The whole case against the cow rests on counting a loop as a leak.
It is an error you can only make with the answer already decided.

In 1972 the UK produced 1.92 million cars. By 1982 after our first ten years in the European Customs Union that had slumped to 868,000. Manufacturers switched to factories on the continent and state owned BL collapsed. EU membership did damage.

I see she’s an Ann Summers customer too! Pulling rabbits out of the bag?
⚠️ An 82 year old Grandma from Leeds has declared WAR on corporate greed by setting up a stall outside her local Morrisons selling her collection of second hand carrier bags, after being enraged at the supermarket charging an extortionate 60p per bag! 😲
"I've been hoarding these bloody things for 30 years!" she explained. "I've got hundreds under the kitchen sink, cupboards full of them and thousands piled up in the garden shed!"
The pensioner pocketed a whopping £13.40 on her first day and insists she'll be back tomorrow, claiming she's got enough bags at home to keep her in business until 2029.

Good morning, my digital friends 😃
Monday doesn’t need you to have it all figured out. It only needs you to begin.
The week ahead will have its ordinary moments and its better ones. You don’t have to rush the whole thing before breakfast.
Just take the next steady step, be a little kinder to yourself than the last few days allowed, and trust that small, consistent effort still moves things forward.
You’ve handled harder weeks than this one.
Start gently.
The rest can follow 🫶
