Just spitballing here, but these CDC numbers could even be an undercount. Some doctors are reportedly dismissing #LongCovid symptoms as psychosomatic medtruth.com/articles/patien…
Replying to @ahandvanish
The CDC is starting to acknowledge us & the #LongCovid numbers are high: 35% of people are not back to normal after the suggested 'recovery' period. Given the US's current cases of 4.2 million, that's 1,470,000 long haulers in the US alone. cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/m… 8/

Now, @LizFordGuardian reports millions of women may face unwanted pregnancies and even death due to lack of access during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, yeah, not interested in hearing about a coronavirus baby boom.
Maybe it's just me, but I've been so bugged by the jokes about a coming coronavirus baby boom. Mostly for reasons related to the halt on "non-urgent" fertility treatment and problems with abortion/contraception access.

Coronavirus outbreak could limit access to contraception and abortion services to 9.5 million women in developing countries, putting them a risk for unintended pregnancy, unsafe abortion and maternal mortality. theguardian.com/global-devel…

Something I’ve been pretty obsessed with lately: Are j-schools teaching students how to freelance or is the assumption still that everyone is getting a staff job?
