Risk is complex. Thanks to vaccines, the risk of serious illness and death for individuals is far less. Thanks to Omicron, some who aren’t protected could get very ill in a short space of time and overload the NHS. “My risk is low but I will stop socialising” is a tricky message.

My Xmas lights remain on as lockdown lights in a feeble recognition of his and their amazing effort whose magnitude dwarfs anything that has gone before.
My son is a medic in NHS A/E. He is a hero, they all are. But not in an adrenaline fuelled act of urgent desperation like many brave soldiers but in a quiet compassionate persistent kindness that will endure until the pandemic is over.

BBC's Laura Kuenssberg used the the word "generous" while describing universal credit. This an opinion and not evidence-based journalism. It gives the distinct impression people receiving the payment, should be "grateful" @BBCr4today

Why is there no mention of Serco test and trace in how we will suppress the virus, drive down infections & eventually be able to ease restrictions? After 9 months, £22bn and an infinite number of promises has the PM abandoned Serco test and trace? A deadly failure of government.
