Ive been making a small film with some friends and the reaction from the public to a real camera is intrigue, excitement and asking to be filmed. The same response with a phone camera would be disgust, rejection and covering your face. The people know deep down the phone is evil

Idk why I've been thinking about this a lot but I see his point. However, I think I would have never watched Tarkovsky without Spielberg? You have to have an on ramp for art; Mirror, in it's infinite beauty, would have been lost on me without a foundation of digestible films.
