84% of investors and wealth managers believe crypto ETPs will help normalise digital assets in portfolio allocations within the next 3 years. Our latest global survey, interviewing over 200 institutional investors, showed that 55% are ‘very likely’ to use crypto ETPs for the first time in the next two years. For traditional investors, ETPs offer a recognisable and trusted allocation framework. By simplifying the custody infrastructure and reducing operational friction with their other assets, ETPs have become the preferred entry point for institutions. However, the long-term opportunity within digital assets is to build a digital asset market that operates and is seen on par with its traditional asset counterparties. For that to be achieved, capital allocation must move beyond passive exposure via ETPs but instead move to active management. Our survey showed that the biggest barrier for this shift is the sector’s infrastructure and custody solutions in which investors require the solutions to match institutional-grade security that they expect and receive from their traditional asset allocations. #DigitalAssets #InstitutionalInvestors #ETFs
