This change was always going to be necessary for competitive integrity, but the timing leaves many players who dedicated themselves to a Legend expecting to be able to win the best of in an awkward position, likely forcing them to switch to a top tier deck. It will be interesting to see how the meta game for the first high level event without best ofs looks, in previous sets there still would have been a lot of diversity but I am unsure if this event will. I like open decklists change, it favors players that can use the information effectively. However, the skill of playing into an unknown deck blind and the benefits of brewing your own list instead of netdecking are removed.
